I'd pretty much agree with this, although I think in episode 3, when she lost Bentley and William dropped way down, I'm not sure she really had a F4 left at all, and that probably contributed to her freakout over Bentley, and them supposedly almost stopping production, because she was afraid she just couldn't make good choices. So at the end of that episode, she had JP of course, and maybe was still hoping that she could find some chemistry with Ryan, despite their makeout session making her really uncomfortable. I don't think she paid that much attention to either Ben F or Dino, other than liking the looks of them, because up until then, neither one pursued her at all. It wasn't until Phuket when she took the necessary initiative and had a solo date with Dino, and sought out Ben, that they jumped into her F4 IMO. If Ben C was ever really in her F4, it was out of desperation; I don't think she ever really thought he was a contender; she was just too nice to send him home on the 1 on 1 (same with Mickey), or maybe didn't trust her instincts enough to dismiss someone based on not feeling "it" after just one date.

Still not sure when she finally threw in the towel on Ryan, if it was on their solo date or before.

And I do wonder if she was ever planning on sending Ben home after FDs just to spare him more heartbreak, since Dino would be much easier to dump at the end.

Oh, I think JP was higher up and Bentley more like #3 or #4 in episode #1. Whether or not JP was at the top is a big question mark for everybody to argue. Ryan may have gotten the impression rose because he impressed her... unfortunately.

Also love Bentley's comment in episode #1: Ryan got the first impression rose and I'm kind of wondering what's going on with that.
Everybody else would be asking the same question when he gets two more on group dates.

Willie was definitely high up there as the "alternative" to JP and I agree with what Bloomers hinted at previously. Like many "alternative" F1s (there to replace the real F1 when things go wrong with the relationship... as in the case of Deanna's Jesse replacing Graham), he would have been F3 had the comedy roast not happen. F3 leaves early enough so the Bachelorette has enough time to get over it before FRC. F2 is the one with the weaker "connection" and easier to say goodbye to at FRC.

Some here think Ben replaced Willie as final 3 (getting his first date the same week Willie got booted). Constantine replaced Bentley as F2 dumpee since the two aren't all that "into" each other. However, Dino exits out early on his own, like Ali's Frankie. This may be how Ben got to be F2.

I really didn't think she was all that into Ben C., the other Ben.

I stand by my ranking, since BenC did get a 1-1 date which means he was among the front runners for Ashley's affections or at least TPTB saw a potential for their relationship. I was impressed by BenC who is a lawyer, good looking, can dance and fun loving.I thought their date went really well and they had a great time together.I wonder why their relationship did not move forward and he was overtaken by BenF.

Do we always have to have a default F2? I was insulted for Chris L when he was labeled that. I was insulted for Chantal. It's the easy way out for the star to reject the F3 by saying well you'd have been my F2 if it wasn't for x, y, z. To say, well I thought you'd meet my family...what a cop out. Dollars to donuts if Frank and Dino had not taken themselves out, they'd still have been F3. Ash is a smart cookie and knew Dino had no real interest in her. Why introduce him to her family? :bearhi:

Ashley may have liked him, but I don't think he was one of her 4 top picks at that time. And although she gave him a rose, I suspect after the date, much like with Mickey, she still wasn't "sold" on him as a potential finalist the way she was after her dates with William and JP.

she associated william as a boy (roast), bentley as a boy (george lopez) and she use boyfriend with Ben (although she also called him a man in one of a PI after the moped episode)

but with JP it was never a doubt: he is a man.... I feel secure.... I feel like I can be silly and be myself... It is a GOOD feeling, a good one.

Yes, William described himself as a 30 year old boy on their date, but at that point in time, I don't think Ashley realized she needed to look for a "man", not a boy. She definitely liked William after that Vegas date. It was only after being disappointed by all her "boys" that she learned her lesson. And you're right, JP is definitely a "man" in all ways, compared to the others, and she does keep making that distinction post show about having found a man. Pretty much says it all IMO.
