I go back and forth. The only thing that gives me pause is how obvious it is. No one even comes close. The only other person I could maybe see her picking is Ben F. and even that would be really hard for me to believe. Unless something miraculous happens coming up with one of these guys, I don't see how she could pick anyone else at this point.

And that so reminds me of how almost everyone was completely convinced Deanna chose Jason – and we had no spoilers that season on who F1 was, the FORTers got the F2 by good old fashioned sleuthing. If Jason was getting the obvious edit and Jesse was just there – could they be doing that very same thing this season?

She apparently is so obsessed with Bentley - does she suddenly realize that she likes JP? It's possible but I think more likely that she didn't realize the potential of some of the others - ie Ben.
JP is not invited on the Dance Show group date - dancing is so important to her.
Flipping a coin for a date. Flipping a coin for a kiss - cute but ...........
Falling asleep with JP - first date - shouldn't there be something to talk about - shouldn't she want to get to know him. I know she was exhausted but ...................

She "owes" him a good one on one. How about her wanting to take him on a romantic one on one ?
I agree she is attracted to JP - and he makes her feel good; he comforts her. I am not sure what Ashley needs - does she really need all this comforting. Does she need a stronger type - someone a little aggressive - a little fighting instinct? Perhaps Ben is too laid back but I see his personality more calming and compatible with Ashley's. I think after the glow has worn off that JP and Ashley could be too much alike.

Except for the 'too obvious' which I don't quite agree with - great post.

I'm reluctant to say absolutely JP is F1 just based on the fact that the editing is totally confusing me. As I rewatch the episodes JP's got a mishmash of F1/F2 edits and honestly so does Ben F.I think the whole thing with Bentley was overblown.I think it was lust and not love that Ash had with Bentley. She mistook lust for love.

I keep saying this re the editing mishmash but I think once Bentley leaves, we will start seeing some solid editing pattern.

Unless of course it has been there all along and no one has seen it....much like Ashley.

That's what I'm worried about. This could all be to fool us. Besides the fact that JP's an obvious pick, RS says she picks JP and the majority of the viewers want her to pick JP. If she does pick JP, I feel like there's going to to be some surprise pulled out at the end of all this.

So Bentley leaves at slightly beyond the midway point of the season. And her new story is supposed to start.
Yeah I would say a miracle - but IMO for any guy but I include JP as well.

My theory is that Ashley wanted William and JP for her first solo dates, but production decided to liven it up by making one date a coin toss involving a "lesser" candidate she hadn't selected for her top 4. William's date was very public. The coin toss date was very private (a suite): she knew she was getting either her top pick for that date (JP) or a guy she felt "safe" with physically on account of limited "chemistry" (Mickey).

By the way, the new theory about Monday's show on the rise on the forum:

Mickey leaves because Ryan got the group rose. Not on account of Bentley. A big discussion about Ryan (JP, Blake and Mickey) in episode #4 (see VO & PI thread) spells it out.

Back to JP...

Although JP did not get his 1 on 1 date until episode #3, he did not get his first group date until episode #4... and Ashley was spending a LOT of time with him on that one. Both Bentley and Ryan only had group dates. PERIOD. Ryan will get his first in Taiwan and get dumped.

It is becoming obvious that JP was her top pick initially, but his stock may have fallen slightly for a few days when Bentley comforted her after her other "potential final one" William got her upset and she was feeling vulnerable. Sooooooo... for about TWO or THREE days only, Bentley was essentially the one she "could see at the end" (at least final two and a "potential husband"). When he brought up Michelle's name and said he as there for her, his stock skyrocketed.

IMO it is always better to keep an open mind. Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one, but this show has you thinking someone is the F1 one minute and then by the end of the next episode you are doubting everything you believed in.

If JP is the F1 then TPTB are sticking to a formula they have been using for several seasons. The person who gets a 1-1 date in episode 3 has a pretty good shot at being the F1. JMO

I think that if JP is F1, and at this point in time I do believe he is, that the reason they have been so obvious about showing it, is to counter the Bentley backlash. They clearly overplayed their hand with that story, so maybe they feel they have no choice but to show the obvious love story.
