Hey, I can understand what he's saying. For them, it would have been a toxic relationship.
Both are probably great people but with each other, it would have been lethal.
This happens in many relationships. Two great people- not great together.
And yes, -recognizing that and being free from it - yes, that IS dodging a bullet, for both of them. :yes:

I keep an open mind....Miss Emily is not perfect and has faults...Brad knows quite a bit more about her than we do and has seen sides of her that are, I'm certain, not flattering.

ITA. Their ATFR was one of the most uncomfortable hours of television I've ever sat through, and when they broke up, I felt like both of them dodged a bullet. A relationship that volatile never would've worked out, and it's good that both of them realized it sooner than later. I thought Brad was very complimentary of Emily herself, but was just acknowledging that the relationship wasn't the right fit for either of them. I hope they both find what they're looking for.

I agree with that. I don't think he meant anything derogatory by his statement. Emily has said that Brad is happy for her that she's doing the Bachelorette, and for Brad to tell Chris to "take care of her", doesn't sound like a man that's bitter.

And it was going the way of his other relationship with Laurel. They would fight, break up, make up, fight, break up, make up...repeat. That wasn't healthy for either of them. Em is not perfect and she made mistakes in the relationship. She will be the first to admit that to anyone. I don't take what Brad said as an insult. They both dodged the bullet. Neither ended up being what the other expected.

^^^Spending no more than possibly, 1 week total in each other's company....proves, season after season, the failure rate! This reality show is far from what's real and successfully healthy.

And yes, Brad did say that Emily has a 'potty mouth' and as per the previews, we will be seeing on national television, that this is probably the truth.

but he could have chosen a better way to phrase that.

Sounds like only he "dodged the bullet". If i remember correctly, he's the angry bear.

It's messed up given that Emily has tried to speak positive of him.
