So Ricki's actually featured on the show this season?? Don't get me wrong, her daughter's absolutely adorable but I'm not too sure about the propriety of putting a 6yo on the air in an international program

Ricki will not be the focus of the show, but these guys will absolutely need to see Emily's everyday life at some point. She is a mother first and Ricki is the most important thing. So of course the show is going to let these guys understand it. These guys need to see this isn't just a vacation for them, but getting involved with Emily means getting involved with Ricki. That is a big step. I hope it weeds out the guys who aren't serious about it.

I agree that they have to include Ricki to some extent, Emily is a packaged deal. Even more with Emily's circumstances because she is the only parent. I'm sure TP can include Ricki without exposing her too much. If Emily ends up choosing anyone in the end they will have to show some connection between Ricki and this guy. Like you said, its not a vacation, these guys need to see that this is her everyday life.

I don't think it's fair to Ricki to expose her to multiple potential boyfriends for Emily. I had a single mom and it was always hurtful and confusing when she was dating a guy that we liked and then it fell through - even if it wasn't a very serious relationship - and especially at such a young age. I don't think it's a good idea for single parents to introduce their kids to casual dates, and I don't think that Emily's situation is really conducive to the premise of this show.

I also don't think it's fair to the F2 men to be expected to commit to Emily WITHOUT spending extensive time with Ricki. She can choose the one she's most interested in pursuing a relationship with after the show, but as far as a proposal, under these circumstances I think it would be highly inappropriate.

It's important for single parents to make sure that their partner is a good fit not just for them, but for their family. It's also important for the potential partner to understand the commitment he is making when he marries someone who has a child. I just don't see how those things can be accomplished within the timeframe and context of this show without putting Ricki in a situation which could end up being very hurtful and confusing for her.
