Historic and picturesque Dubrovnik is the backdrop for the group's next set of romantic adventures. After a sneak peek at the next eagerly awaited Pixar film, "Brave," a group of spirited bachelors compete in a round of Highland games in order to win extra time with Emily.

From Wiki:

Highland games are events held throughout the year in Scotland and other countries as a way of celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture and heritage, especially that of the Scottish Highlands. Certain aspects of the games are so well known as to have become emblematic of Scotland, such as the bagpipes, the kilt, and the heavy events, especially the caber toss. While centred on competitions in piping and drumming, dancing, and Scottish heavy athletics, the games also include entertainment and exhibits related to other aspects of Scottish and Gaelic culture.

The Cowal Highland Gathering, better known as the Cowal Games, helt in Dunoon, Scotland, every August, is the largest Highland games in Scotland, attracting around 3,500 competitors and somewhere in the region of 15–20,000 spectators from around the globe. Worldwide, however, it is dwarfed by two gatherings in the United States: the 50,000 that attend Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina and the even larger gathering—the largest in the Northern Hemisphere—that has taken place every year since 1865 hosted by the Caledonian Club of San Francisco. This event is currently held Labor Day weekend in Pleasanton, California.

‘Southern belle’ bachelorette gets teamed with Muppets

By Mark Washburn
TV/Radio Writer
Posted: Friday, Apr. 27, 2012

In advance of the debut next month of “The Bachelorette,” ABC has released some details of this season’s show: Charlotte’s Emily Maynard, the bachelorette, gets a scene with the Muppets.

ABC says Maynard and a group of her suitors perform in a charity event with Kermit, Miss Piggy and other Muppets as part of the series, which debuts at 9:30 May 14 (Channel 9).

Thematically, Maynard will be apparently cast in classic southern stereotype. A statement from the network’s publicity department says she will greet her beaus “at a southern mansion” in Charlotte and describes Maynard as a “southern belle,” although in fact she grew up in Morgantown, W.Va., which lies six miles south of the Mason-Dixon line and was Union territory in the Civil War.

As she eliminates undesirable partners week-to-week, Maynard and her retinue will travel to various destinations, including Bermuda, London and Prague. ABC says Maynard will also take one of the potential mates “to one of Emily’s favorite places – Dollywood,” where they will be serenaded by Dolly Parton.

In one stunt, Maynard and a bachelor scale the side of the Mint Museum Uptown (ABC describes it as “a tall building;” in truth, it’s five stories), then are sung to by country star Luke Bryan.

Among the men Maynard will get to chose from are a biology teacher, a mushroom farmer, a marine biologist, a party DJ and a former pro football player. One guy arrives at the initial meeting with Maynard in a helicopter. ABC says it will release the names of her suitors soon.

Excerpts from Premiere press release:

Even Emily's best friends get to grill 12 of the men and put them to the test in a park full of children.

Robert Mills @Millsy11374:
Getting ready for Emily's "Hunger Games" inspired group date. This episode airs May 21st so hopefully the movie will still be popular.

18 March

RS' Blog excerpt:
Today is a group date, and by all accounts that I’m hearing, it is taking place at Sky High Sports in Pineville, North Carolina. It’s not 100% confirmed, as it might be used on a different day, I just know they will be going to Sky High at some point this season. As you can see, Sky High Sports is a trampoline places where everyone will get to goof off, act like kids, and pretend to fall while they’re jumping with Emily, only to fall on top of her simulating the missionary position. Mark it down at some point when this date airs, that will happen. Either some guy will fall on top of her, or she’ll fall on top of some guy. It’s inevitable. You know the ironic thing about this date? This is exactly the type of place that Bentley works at in Utah, except it’s called “Airborne Trampoline Arena.” Not saying Bentley is on the show or this date, because he isn’t, but it’s just funny they are doing a date exactly at the type of place that employs him. I can assure you though that Bentley is not part of the show up to this point, and I seriously doubt he will be later on.

As mentioned in today's column, Sky High Sports was one of the date locations, but it wasn't today. They were there on Sat. b4 Muppets show

"Jeepgirl35 4/22: They were at Sky High yesterday. There's no way they could have been at Sky on Saturday. Emily and her guys had to be at the booth theater early to rehearse there lines, and go over the show. My friend was there Saturday at 1pm and saw the guys on stage. There wasn't enough time to go to Sky, shower and get cleaned up. Plus Emily had to go over her lines, and get ready herself. I think Reality Steve may have gotten this one wrong.

Re: Friends Q&A/Kids vs. Sky High Group date vs. Hunger games (group or solo date) & Sky high date Episode 2 vs. Sky High date Episode 3:

1. The Hunger games date, whether it was a group date that turned into SQT or a solo date, occurred Episode 2 since Millsy said it would air on the 21st of May.
2. I think the Sky High Sports date is the date where Emily's friends got to grill the guys and watch them play with the kids. I don't think Hunger games date & Sky High date are necessarily the same one.
3. The press release specifically says that only 12 of the guys were grilled by Emily's friends. Usually when we have these kind of grilling by friends/family or competition for a date, all the guys participate, unless they already had a date that week. Also, some times the grilling by friends has nothing to do with who got a date but, just for the lead to get an opinion on all the guys. So, how does the number 12 fit in with the dates episode 2 & 3? Well, 13 men went to the muppet date, per RS and their were 19 men overall, per the press release, in episode 2.
4. Hunger games was mentioned as a group date by producers on the 18th, same day as Greenbrier date. RS says it was a 1-on-1 where Emily and suitor flew in by helicopter for dinner & fireworks. A few witnesses tweeted about seeing Emily & suitor at Greenbrier. One of them, a local ABC affiliate reporter, said they had been there all day and got pics of fireworks and table where they drank Champagne. However, all those who witnessed them commented on evening portion of the date. Emily could have still have had Hunger Games inspired day portion of the date, in the Bunker or at the Lazertag activity they have at the Greenbrier, to decide who won the evening portion of the date. Either way, I don't think the Hunger games date, whether group or solo date, is the same activity as the Friends Grill/Kids activity. It's either Emily & suitor playing Katniss & Peeta on some adventurous 1-on-1 date that finishes with dinner & fireworks or a group date that ended with fireworks dinner for SQT for the winner.
5. I think the Sky High date is the friends grill/kids date. They say it happens at a park and Sky High is referred to as a Trampoline Park. There website mentions activities for younger kids. It would seem a perfect place to watch the guys play with kids while the girlfriends grill them off to the side. http://cha.jumpskyhigh.com/
6. RS initially thought the Sky High Sport was going to be on the 21st and then later changed and said it happened on the day of the Muppets date, April 17th. We had witnesses who live in Charlotte who though that wouldn't have happened with the guys already on stage at 1pm for the Muppet date. Plus, witnesses who said the Sky High Sports had an area shutdown on the day of the 21st. The girlfriends grilling the guys might not take that long and they might have squeeked by with enough time to do it before rehearsing and performing for the Muppets date or after the afterparty. And the numbers would work if RS was wrong about it being 13 guys on the Muppet date and their were actually 12. However, I lean more towards the Sky High date being on episode 3 group date. Otherwise, what else would they have for a group date that week? And it would give plenty of time to interview and observe the guys with the kids.
7. Still wonder why all the guys wouldn't be at the Q&A and getting observed with the kids. I would expect at least all of the F4 to be their to get girlfriend approval. Except, maybe the two guys who had 1-on-1 date who she might feel confident her girlfriends would approve of and she already knew they were good with kids. Also, still possible that girlfriend Q&A and playing with kids was totally separate from any actual date.

I just saw another shorter Bachelroette commercial preview. It was new, but shortened. I think it was a flash of Chris and Emily on his first 1-on-1 date. They were kissing. Did anyone else see it just now? It happened during Shark Tank. I am on my way out now to meet up with family. So I might not be on until later. Anyways, they might show it again at some point tonight.

In my opinion, Emily felt so upset or angry after recently knowing the fact Arie dated Cassie in the past that she finally had to make a hard decision to send Arie home. She cried because she thought he was the one. The horse race MF tweeted could be during RC Emily sent two guys home instead of one guy. She probably sent Arie and Jef home. Therefore MF tweeted that the RC is too early, also saying it being a horse race and the Final Rose Ceremony could be sooner than expected. I read from many other threads that Jef and Arie have activated their twitter and facebook accounts. The last two men standing sadly to say based on my honest opinion would be Sean and Chris.

Just curious....you don't believe Love's source who said that was not a big deal and was false? Not saying you should believe either way, just curious as to why you don't believe it?

It's a funny thing about sources. We are believing LOVE. We are not particularly believing her source. We don't even know who her source is. However, because we know Love, and we trust Love, we are going to go with Love.

However, the fact remains we don't know who her source is, so it could be hard to out and out trust her source. It is a fine line, and it is one we travel when we work with spoilers.

We go through this periodically. We have to decide which spoilers to trust, and often it is based on who we know.
Occasionally, who we know gets shanghighed, and that is OK as well. We all get it wrong occasionally. I tell how the very best and oldest supersleuths on the FORT went down together a couple of times when the source was WRONG.

We have to give each other some leeway, I think. JMO>

I guess what I trust is Love's instinct to trust this source.

I honestly don't think they would let Emily eliminate two people at this point in the process.

I don't either. I think the producers might have encountered some kind of a surprise with Emily and her decisions along the way, but I think we are going to see a typical 4-3 RC.

I agree. I think they still have a show to produce. I don't know how ratings work, but if they let Emily eliminate 2 guys after HTDs, will they only have 9 episodes (+MTA/ATFR). So they'll potentially lose out an episode's worth of ratings? And I can't recall off the top of my head. But is the FD location normally the same as the Final date/F2 location? Are they using the same hotels? If they're not, I would think a hotel sponsor would be mad, if ABC cancelled on them last minute. I think the hotels would want to have their name out there (that's why they offer free accommodation to the production?)
