Development and filming

The Mexican city of Puerto Vallarta hosted the start of The Amazing Race 35.
Filming for this season began on October 25 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.[1][2][3] Unlike the previous two seasons, which used a Titan Airways Boeing 757, this season used a Global Crossing Airlines Airbus 320 to reduce personal interactions associated with COVID-19 infections.[4] On November 4, the show was in Córdoba, Argentina.[5] This season also included visits to Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, first-time visits to Barbados and the Dominican Republic, and concluded in Philadelphia in mid-November.[6]

Is “The Amazing Race” returning for Season 35?
Yes, don’t worry. CBS has not announced the renewal yet, but “Race” will be back for a 35th season. A casting call went out in June and the season was filmed in October and November.

When will “The Amazing Race 35” premiere?
TBA. In November, CBS announced its midseason schedule, which included “Survivor” but did not include “The Amazing Race.” It’s possible that “Race” could come off the bench if a new show tanks in the spring (as it has come to the rescue before), but at the moment the earliest it’ll likely premiere is in the fall. And if we’re going to look that far ahead, it will probably be paired with “Survivor” again on Wednesdays.
