The new Entertainment Weekly (Johnny Depp/Dark Shadows cover) has Chris Harrison's 6 To Watch and the picture of Emily with all the bachelors.

CH's 6 To Watch: Kalon, Jef, Doug, Arie, Alesandro (sp?), and Ryan

In the picture of Emily with the bachelors, Jef is directly right of Emily in the front row (in other words, he's next to her on her left), Sean is in the back row to the far left (he's the last guy on the left), Arie is in the back row to the far right (he's the last guy on the right), and Chris is right next to Arie (so Chris is the 2nd to last guy on the right in the back row).

CH describes Kalon as cocky/brash/arrogant, they spoil that he came in a helicopter, and CH says he wasn't that impressed by the helicopter. Something about it being like coming in a Prius instead of a limo?

CH says Jef is not your typical 6'4" drop dead gorgeous hunk but wins Emily over with his charisma and humor. CH says women are far more likely to give ordinary looking guys a chance with their personalities than guys are to give ordinary looking girls a chance with their personalities. Apparently Jef ditches the limo for a skateboard on the 1st night?

CH describes Doug, a single dad with an 11 year old kid, as somebody everybody will love. CH says his relationship with Emily is sweet, but wonders if there'll be more to it.

EW says that in case you thought the Bach producers wouldn't be so cruel as to include a race car driver in the cast considering Emily's past, you'd be wrong since Arie's in the cast. CH says the racing world is still a big part of Emily's life and that Arie is Indy not NASCAR anyway. EW doesn't know what that means. CH doesn't say anything about Arie himself.

Alesandro apparently greets Emily in Portuguese and is swoonworthy, but the question is whether more can develop from that.

Ryan is this season's former athlete with a heart of gold according to EW. CH says on the 1st night, he wrote "You are so beautiful" on the back of a note to Emily so she could see that while he was reading his letter to her. EW says "Yeah, he's that guy" (implying he's that sweet I think).

The accompanying article in the 2 page spread talks about the casting process - there's a guy who calls himself 70% child, 30% man and says something about nudity who doesn't get cast, and the article notes that for all the inane questions, the potential contestants are asked serious questions like are they willing to seriously date a single mother because the producers consider stability for Emily's child a priority. Either Fleiss or CH says they had more applicants than ever this season so Emily's single mother status wasn't a deterrent. The article confirms Bent doesn't show up the 1st night. CH says the show is not above twists and turns but ultimately they want the process to work.

This week's People mag (Khloe Kardashian cover) also has a 2 page interview with Emily. I don't think there are any spoilers in there. Emily talks about wanting to be a lady, hoping for no hot tubs and not kissing every guy that's there, but also having fun and showing some girl power. She also says she's a hopeless romantic who's willing to move for love.

First Look At The Bachelorette Cast

EW sat in while producers cast the men for Emily Maynard's season (premiering May 14 at 8 p.m. on ABC) and uncovered the secrets behind determining who smells like a rose and who just plain stinks.

In a nondescript room not far from LAX, the interrogation begins. The subject — code name Evan — is grilled with probing questions as roughly 15 officials watch his responses and gestures on a closed-circuit screen down the hallway. It's just like an episode of 24...except for the flowing alcohol, the gothic candelabras, and the target himself, a self-described "hipster" who brags that he'd be naked all the time if he could, and that he's "a child at heart — 70 percent man, 30 percent boy."

Oh, yes, this guy seems primed to unleash some serious romantic terror — which makes him a perfect candidate for the new season of The Bachelorette, starring tragic single mom Emily Maynard, 26, also known as the "winner" of season 15 of The Bachelor, who ultimately dumped her fiancé Brad Womack and is now back on the rose-ridden franchise trying to find lifelong love. "Initially we thought the fact that she was a single mother might discourage some younger men, but that didn't happen at all," says exec producer Mike Fleiss. "We've never had so many guys apply to be on the show." (And yes, there is one African-American suitor in the mix this season, though Fleiss had no comment about the recent racial-discrimination lawsuit filed against him and ABC. Warner Horizon Television, which produces The Bachelor and is also named in the suit, says the complaint is "baseless.")

Of course, attracting guys to live in a mansion and date a gorgeous, sweet-natured blonde is not that tough. Finding men who are more interested in Emily than in showcasing their washboard abs on TV, however, is a harder job. For every vapid question producers fire at the approximately 80 finalists ("What is your workout regimen?"), there's a serious one to answer as well ("How do you feel about dating a woman with a child?"). Between interviews, casting director Lacey Pemberton explains that while there's more pressure casting for a single-mom Bachelorette — "You want to bring stability into their lives" — ultimately she and the producers are looking for the same thing they always are: a hunk with a heart of gold. "We need good guys interested in taking that leap of faith," she says. "There are nuances in people's interviews that give things away, whether they may say them or not." Like that one guy who said he chooses his footwear to hide his "Big Night" tattoo, or that other one who admitted that he auditioned because he was told that "it's a cool opportunity to be on a show."

As for rumors that producers were bringing back last season's bad boy, Bentley, who was disappointed his Bachelorette was Ashley? Emily fans can rest easy: The shaggy-haired doucheboat will not be stepping out of a limo that first night. "It's not like we're above twists and turns," says host Chris Harrison, "but in the end, we want this to work." Which might be why Mr. "30 percent boy" from the morning's casting session did not make the cut. Guess he'll have to be hip and naked somewhere else.

Host Chris Harrison Picks Six Suitors To Watch

This "luxury-brand consultant" is, Harrison says, "cocky, brash, and arrogant" and arrives on the first night in a rented helicopter. "He makes a huge first impression, but the big story is, will it fade quickly?" Sounds that way, considering his equipment wasn't that remarkable. "I don't know where that helicopter came from, but it was pretty unimpressive," Harrison says. "It would be like showing up in a Prius instead of a limo."

Jef Holm, 27

And the winner of the Bob Guiney award goes to... "He's not your typical 6'4" ripped bachelor. He's an average-looking guy who will stun Emily with his personality and charm," says Harrison. "Women are more apt to give a guy with humor and charisma a chance than a guy will." Ouch. Harrison was also impressed that Holm ditched the limo for a skateboard on the first night. "It was like Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future!"

Doug Clerget, 33

Single mom Emily, meet single dad Doug! "They get along fantastically and share this bond from the moment they started talking about kids," says Harrison. "And he's a great-looking guy. Muscles on top of muscles. He's someone America will fall in love with." So what's the catch? "It's a sweet relationship, but can they get beyond that? Is there more to him than his 11-year-old son?" Not to mention those muscles on top of muscles?

Arie Luyendyk Jr., 30

You thought there was no way the producers would be so heartless as to cast a race-car driver, given that Emily's late fiancé, Ricky Hendrick, was a well-known NASCAR driver who died in a plane crash in 2004? Guess again. "It's not like after Ricky died she never went to the track. The racing world is still a big part of her life," says Harrison, adding, "and Arie is an IndyCar driver, not NASCAR." Uh, yeah — that means nothing to us.

Alesandro Goulart, 30

The first words out of this Brazilian hunk's mouth are "Nice to meet you, gorgeous" — in Portuguese! Cue the swooning. "He's this Latin heartthrob who very easily works his charms on Emily," says Harrison. Of course, Portuguese can make certain things sound sexy for only so long. "He's a grain merchant," says Harrison, who pauses before explaining, "I guess that means he merchants the grain."

Ryan Bowers, 31

It's this season's sensitive former pro athlete! Bowers is an ex--football player who owns a gym but also mentors young children in Augusta, Ga. His romantic (and potentially cheesy) side scores points with Emily yet makes him a target among the guys. "The first night he gave Emily a note that said 'You are beautiful' on the back, so while he was reading it to her she could see that," says Harrison. "He's that guy."

'The Bachelorette' premiere: Kalon vs. Stevie and more things to look to forward to

"The Bachelorette" returns to ABC in just a few short weeks, featuring Southern belle Emily Maynard as the woman whose heart 25 eligible bachelors are vying for. We've seen the premiere episode (except the Rose Ceremony!), so we've got a few juicy details to whet your appetite before the premiere.

There is a lot of footage of Emily and Ricki and you hear Emily tell Ricki, "You're so pretty, you don't even need makeup." Which also is some advice Emily appears to have taken to heart, because on the first night meeting the guys, she looks much less made-up than she did on Brad's season of "The Bachelor." Great to see, she's a beautiful lady without the need for all the trimmings.

Speaking of beautiful, the men cannot stop talking about how gorgeous she is. It's like - we get it. You're starting to be a little embarrassing. It is literally like every fourth word out of their mouths. There is also a toast to the "hottest mom ever," but at least everyone has the good graces not to call her a "MILF." But we would bet money somebody does it at some point this season.

Keep your eyes peeled for Kalon - you really can't miss him, as he arrives by helicopter. That stunt naturally ruffles a few feathers, but none moreso than Stevie, who is not shy about telling Kalon to his face what he thinks of him. However, other than Kalon vs. Stevie, the first night is surprisingly (and refreshingly) drama free.

There are two men in the bunch who have sons at home, Doug and Tony. One of them pulls a stunt regarding his kid and we can't decide if it's adorable or terrible. But it does win him huge points with Emily. Hmm. We've got our eye on you.

"The Bachelorette" premieres Monday, May 14 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC before moving to its normal timeslot, Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, on May 21.

The premiere of ABC’s “The Bachelorette 2012” is right around the corner, and viewers cannot wait to watch Emily Maynard search for love this season. Filming has not finished quite yet, and “Bachelorette” spoilers have been coming out quite rapidly. Word is that the show is filming in Curaçao at the moment, and by now Emily Maynard has narrowed down her suitors to the final two. Which two guys are left standing vying for Emily Maynard’s final rose? It looks like fans may be in for a shocker on this one according to information shared Sunday at the Bach and Bachette Fan forums.

According to “Love_Me” at the Bach and Bachette Fan forums, Jef Holm and Sean Lowe are Emily Maynard’s final two on “The Bachelorette 2012.” Dedicated “Bachelor Nation” fans know that this board is known for uncovering amazing “Bachelorette” spoilers, and also were the first to identify Ben Flajnik’s final four, as well as who Paige Duke picked on “Sweet Home Alabama.” If “Love_Me” says it is confirmed these are the final two guys, one can be quite certain that is truly the case. Of course many fans will be watching Reality Steve spoilers closely to see if he confirms the same final two contestants.

Look Out Emily! ‘The Bachelorette’ Contestant Joe Gendreau Has Criminal Past (EXCLUSIVE)


One of the suitors trying to win The Bachelorette Emily Maynard‘s heart has a secret past, Celebuzz has exclusively learned.

Joe Gendreau may appear doe-eyed and innocent in the official photo album of contestants that was released last week, showing the 25 lucky men who will compete for the single mother’s heart — however, he was a wild one in his youth.

According to court records obtained by Celebuzz, Gendreau, 27, was found guilty of a misdemeanor in September 2008 — for driving under the influence in his home state of Florida. The legal limit for drunk driving in Florida is .08.

This isn’t Joe’s first run in with the law though.

The would-be reality challenger was also busted for urinating in public in 2005 — and also running a red light in 2008.

The Floridian, who now lives in Los Angeles, will challenge 24 others including a mushroom farmer, a race car driver (like Maynard’s late fiancé, Ricky Hendrick), a marine biologist and a model in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The new season of The Bachelorette premieres May 14.

Exclusive! Jef Holm's People Water Raises Money for New Drinking Wells at Los Angeles Bash

While The Bachelorette contestant Jef Holm was busy fighting for the heart of Emily Maynard (and doing a pretty great job at it, considering he’s rumored to have made it through to the final three!), the organization he co-founded, People Water, helped sponsor “A Night of Generosity” in Los Angeles on May 4.


People Water is an organization that works to help provide clean drinking water to the parts of the world that need it most. Their other co-founder, Cody Barker, and the company’s marketing director, Seth Howell, attended the "A Night of Generosity" party, where they celebrated People Water’s pledge to fund two new Ghanaian drinking wells. Twenty-seven new wells received pledges for funding throughout the night, which will help bring water to Ghana as well Haiti, and Ethiopia.

E! television personality Jason Kennedy also attended the event and pledged money towards the effort.

Nice to know the guy who may win Emily’s heart is invested in such a great cause!
