@GuardianAngel I also like the part when he bites his lip when he meets her coming out of the limo. Yeah, I have a feeling he isn't going to be very good at hiding his feelings. All the more reason some of the ladies complain he was boring.

Re: Bachelor 27 - Zach Shallcross - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
A friend of mine sent this to me .. some interesting info
Recap of Gabi on BHH
Thoughts on the Episode
Michelle and Becca both want Charity for bachelorette if she isn’t F1.
They see Kaity going far, they think if she and Zach met at a bar they would still be interested in each other.
Christina: They expected Christina to stay longer, but they appreciated Zach sending her home—they specifically took issue with the way she reacted to Charity getting the group date rose.
They like how decisive Zach has been.
Interview with Gabi
Gabi is in the middle of her workday, doing the podcast from her office.
How is she doing now that the season is airing? “Weird, but exciting.” There’s such a difference between how you feel in the moment and how you feel watching it back. She’s watching with her close friends and it’s been a positive experience for her so far. She didn’t want to have any regrets, so she just tried to be herself once she adjusted to the cameras.
Casting: Her friends nominated her after a bad breakup. It wasn’t the most healthy relationship and she was heartbroken afterward, so she invested time in therapy and healing and when she didn’t meet anyone irl, she decided to put herself out there.
Did she watch the show previously? She had seen a few seasons, but her sister and grandma are big fans and were very supportive of her applying.
Night One:
Limo entrance: She thinks of herself like Buddy the Elf, “syrup is one of the four main food groups.” She’s from Vermont, so she went to maple syrup farms growing up and still loves taking her friends when they visit. It felt like having a piece of home with her, so she wasn’t expecting Zach’s reaction. She thought he was going to throw up.
Did she worry about being sent home over her limo entrance because she didn’t get to talk to Zach again that night? They had a good two-minute conversation when she first got out of the limo, but she hoped the maple syrup would save her—he didn’t like it, but he probably remembered it. She kept her heels on all night just in case she got an opportunity to talk to him.
How did she feel when she got a rose? She was surprised but eager. She wasn’t the only woman who didn’t speak to him, so she was more hopeful when a couple of them got roses too.
Week Two:
First conversation with Zach: She was on the second group date, so there was anticipation building from hearing about the other two dates that week. She felt so behind and wasn’t sure if she could catch up, so she got in her head. She has ADHD and the environment is very overstimulating; she’s worked on emotional regulation for years but struggled at first during filming. When they had that first conversation, it was late, she was tired, and the environment was distracting, so she hopes that gives some context for the “rollercoaster of emotions” we saw on screen. “Emotions hit you really hard and really fast when you’re ADHD.”
She briefly mentions nicknames; she gives everyone nicknames. Michelle and Becca like “Zachypoo.”
Her “comeback”: People asked how she did a 180º after that first conversation. She figured out what she needed to do to regulate her emotions in that environment. Therapy and psychiatry that have given her the tools she needs.
How did she feel after their first good conversation and kiss? It was so reassuring. She could finally take a deep breath. It wasn’t forced, awkward, or intimidating and finally felt natural.
Is Zach a good kisser? She’s never been so nervous for a first kiss. It was “a little bit peanut buttery” but it was a good kiss. Zach’s kissing style is very “accommodating”; he’s good at reading the other person.
Week Three:
Thoughts on playing in the Bachelor Bowl? She was nervous. She knew as soon as they got the date card that it was going to be a football date because of how many women were going.
Does she consider herself athletic? She works out, but she isn’t aggressive. She would have enjoyed a race or an obstacle course, but the idea of tackling people and being tackled was “a lot” and she wasn’t ready for it.
How did she react to the pressure of the losing team going home? She was stressed and angry, it felt like another missed opportunity to further her relationship with Zach.
Her team: Gabi, Davia, Genevie (Gen), Greer, Anastasia, Brianna, Jess, Mercedes
Team captain: Gen was their team captain/MVP; she’s very athletic and knows football. They didn’t have many “workout girlies” on their season. Gabi does not know football and she says that’s obvious watching the episode.
Did she think they would show her “peeing her pants” comment? She was “quite confident” that would be shown. It was alarming when she was tackled and it happened, but now she thinks it’s funny.
How disappointing was it to lose and not attend the afterparty? Very disappointing, not just emotionally but physically. She was drained and hurting. She hyperextended her knee, ripped off three of her dip nails (?), and peed her pants, but she thinks Zach saw her team’s effort.
Bailey’s elimination: She didn’t find out Bailey had left until early the next morning. She was surprised because she thought Zach and Bailey’s connection was stronger based on what Bailey had told the other women.
Christina’s drama: Gabi was “hyperfixated” on her relationship with Zach and “a little bit in her own world.” She tried to be Switzerland and stay out of the drama, but in that environment, you hear things even if you aren’t involved. She knew something had happened at the afterparty and there was still tension in the house going into the pool party, but she didn’t know the full context and details.
“Not everyone is going to click. You put thirty women together, there’s no way everyone clicks with one another.”
Zach’s sunscreen: Her opportunities to spend time with Zach were “few and far between” at the beginning, so she seized the opportunity when it presented itself. He said “I’m going to get a sunburn” and she said, “well, let me help you with that.”
Who was she close with in the house? The entire group of women was “so cool, so nice.” She’s friends with everyone, but initially, she clicked with Kaity, Jess, and Ariel.
She watched Clayton’s season before leaving for filming and was scared that she would be bullied in the house, but “it wasn’t like that.”
Can she tease anything to come this season? A lot of love and emotions and some of the most genuine people. There’s a lot of love between the girls and with Zach. It’s a special season.
Rapid-fire Questions:
Early riser or night owl? Depends on the day.
Best dating advice you’ve ever received? You can’t change people.
Go-to pizza order? Cheese.
One word your best friends would use to describe you? Quirky.
Favorite curse word? ****, but she also uses a lot of words/phrases that aren’t actually curse words like “fudge,” “nothing to shake a stick at,” “in there like swimwear,” etc.
Most played song or artist? Drake.
Favorite cocktail/drink? Any kind of gin cocktail.
If you could be any animal, what would you be? A dolphin.
Current phone screensaver? Her with her dad as a little kid (on his lap, blowing him a kiss?)
If you could visit one place in the world, where would you go? Bora-Bora.
Describe this season in one word or phrase. Love.
Resources:
Becca: Dara Starr Tucker (@daratuckerb on Instagram), specifically a video/reel about black pride vs. white pride in the context of American history.
Michelle: A one-page article, The Dos and Don’ts of Black History Month (how to support black-owned businesses, how to raise awareness, how to celebrate).
Gabi: A book that her therapist recommended to her and worked through with her, Attached. It’s about adult attachment styles and how that translates from childhood experiences into your adult life.
Rose: The girls who kept her grounded when she was struggling and the good conversations with Zach.
Thorn: The nickname word vomit and getting accustomed to all of the cameras.
Becca and Michelle agree that Gabi seems very sweet and appreciate her candidness about her ADHD and the work she did on herself before going on the show. Becca hopes she’ll go far.

@Jeepers thanks for the recap. I don’t enjoy listening to Becca so happy to have you do it for me
It helps to know that Gabi has ADHD and that her friends think she’s quirky. The latter comes through on screeen.

Sorry .. I didn’t listen, a friend sent that to me .. and I love that it explains a lot about Gabi .. she has spent time learning to deal with her ADHD and herself. Seems she is in tune with her environment and how to live with it. I love her quirkiness .. definitely part of her charm

Thank you for sharing that. It explains a lot about her behaviour and why it may have taken Zach longer to get to know her. She had to really get used to the cameras, atmosphere and the noise of the living situation. While that is true for all of them, they didn't have the additional challenges that Gabi does. It would take her longer to get comfortable and open up to him, hence that middle of the show that I keep harping on.
Curiouser and curiouser.
