@Bobette he did say that alot when he was talking to Holly . Maybe he's just over it and wants someone sweet to talk to at Chrismas

Exactly.  Dad is not wearing any of the pants in his household IMO and doesn't want Jimmy to recreate the same relationship dynamic for himself, without at least exploring the alternatives.  Sometimes, you just want to eat cake

Late to the party, just watching Jimmy and Holly on the couch, she seems so disinterested in him. Maybe she just has resting bitch face, and always looks disinterested, I don’t know…

When the parents show up at Holly's date could they be trying any harder to show any sort of love story that just aint there.
