What was the point for him to come out as GAY now?

I haven't watched the interview but don't have a problem with Colton coming out in a public way or people supporting him on that, however it appears like the timing is related to the Netfix show. I don't like some of the SM comments I saw that were running down Cassie, who I see as a victim. By doing such a public show as TB when he said he knew he knew he was gay from an earlier age, it's hard not to think that he only cared about himself and a desire for a level of fame without any concern for the women. Cassie has to wonder why he put her through all that, from when she left the show to what he did when she broke up with him. I hope she can move past all of this and have a happy future.

I have no doubt that should producers offer this, Colton would be running to sign the contract. They love him since he is willing to do anything for attention...Bette, BIP and his own show. Heaven only knows what he would do on the gay bachelor.

If TPTB were to take the IMO progressive, long overdue step of a same sex spinoff show, the Lead should absolutely not be someone very recently out of the closet, who was by their own admission so ashamed of their sexuality they contemplated suicide.  Colton needs to take time to come to terms with and explore his new identity, in private, IMO.  

Give me a gay bachelor, heck yes.  But give me a proud, confident gay man who is fully comfortable in their own skin and would be a positive role model for young gay men, TYVM!  Colton has not earned the right to be the first gay Lead, and would not be a good representative for the community, IMO.  There are much better options available.

Wasn't there talk from the producers of putting some Bachelor franchise shows on a streaming service? It seems to me that a gay version of the Bachelor might be a good fit for this. The producers could try something new and see how it does.
