So you’re telling me that ultra religious Madi who just stands up for her beliefs & doing what’s right, got on national television & lied? I am shocked.

Peter already had a trip planned from before the Bachelor to go to Uganda on a mission trip in Spring. Something that I think their future life would involve: travel, adventure and charity. Who knows what will happen, but I wish them all the best. Thank you for your comments tonight, you and others summed up very acutely many of the thoughts that are stuck in my frozen brain after watching this disastrous and shameful episode. I’m trying to find others words, but I am feeling very sad that this show that used to be about finding love and a possible life partner, has turned into this malicious, manipulative parody that pushes people’s limit to the very worst and exploits every reaction as a public amusement. To highlight Peter’s mom the way they did tonight was just fanning the flames they knew were there and increased the already latent damages between all the parties further. 
How can CH have the audacity to tease and give Barbara so much airtime only to publicly humiliate her own son, ( THEIR LEAD!) who has been already through Hell tonight. They don’t care about any happy endings only great ratings even if it’s at the expense of the people that have their lives smashed because of their sick games and manipulations. It’s never low enough, there is no more moral standards to follow as long as people watch. I’m truly disgusted and feel a lot of empathy for Peter as he truly has been undeniably struggling to find his real identity in the face of such overbearing parenting. It explains a LOT, doesn’t excuse it or justifies any of his poor choices, but gives a real context for the ‘whys’ he is like that and how he is struggling to find himself outside that toxic environment. 
I think a lot of prayers, getting away from BN and California, and staying connected to his love for Madison, would be good steps toward healing. And then, traveling together out in a country that needs a lot of care and love can help forge real bonds that will help them both grow and become the light they wish to be. Let it be the starting point of their true calling together. Maybe they can help each other be the better version of themselves.

I still don't see them being able to talk about, yet along work out their different belief systems. Love can conquer a lot, but I don't think they even know if it's love. They barely can communicate, yet along negotiate their IMO fairly big differences. I don't know what the grand plan is here and to be honest, I'm ready to move on to see Clare's season. This one was a bust for me.

As had been sleuthed before, Madi met Peter's friend at his parent's vow renewal. The friend runs the charity that I think Madi will become involved with. Peter wasn't at the baby shower (it was in the South) so they didn't meet there.

Speak on it! I absolutely loved it because it was funny as hell to me, but Barb shouldn’t have acted like she did for her son’s sake. & Madi shouldn’t have reacted like she did, if she truly loves Peter & wants to be with him. At the end of the day, that’s Peter’s mom & Barb isn’t going anywhere. Madi was very unchristian like to me tonight. She was smug and classless, refused to see where she could’ve handled things better, and is extremely self righteous. All jmo.

First of all Madi said that not everything is in her control. Same as her late arrival for the F3 RC staged by tptb. Producers are in control of who goes where, when. That had nothing to do with Madi...why would she apologize? She probably assumed they knew why it took that long. She clearly didn't realize she was dealing with a nut job.

Second IMO producers probably put the bug in Barb's ear (they knew they hit gold with her as soon as she started clapping when HB admitted to 4x in the windmill) that Madi didn't want to come in. If that had really been the case I'm sure as hell we would have seen it. Yet zero. These people edit this show to death and make something out of nothing and still...nothing but polite Madi. The girl has been nothing, but kind, understanding and polite throughout this thing. She has clearly been raised to be polite and I haven't seen any examples to suggest otherwise.

As to the fact that Madi was a rational person, who was looking at things in the long term and didn't admit to OTT love for Buddie boy and had questions about the feasibility of accepting the proposal of a man who just slept with a couple of women days before he would be proposing to her...well, let's just tar and feather her. (I'm not even going into the fact that I think crazy Barb twisted Madi's words simply because she wasn't madly in love with her precious boy and I very much doubt that that is how Madi phrased it.)

Madi was nothing but polite and diplomatic...even when said elders were acting like bitchy bullies. IMO she showed great respect and class. She gave Barb way more respect than she deserved! I can't see how much more Christian she could have acted.

I have called out many contestants for their behaviour. The worst I can say about Madi is that she needs to stop saying "like" constantly.

I have also called out Peter all season long for being a wuss, wishy washy and the worst lead ever. I still stand by that, but having seen his mother in action these last couple of nights, now I get why. Poor schmuck.

@Sprite I’m just too tired and depressed to express it as well as you did!  Ditto on all! Madi impressed me and poor Peter was shaking on that seat almost begging his parents to give Madi a chance because this IS THE WOMAN HE LOVES. That was HUGE for him IMO.

Yes @astrobach malicious and manipulative parody just about sums up this show. They really don’t want anyone to find happiness, it’s just about publicly humiliating people. Bizarre that they bothered to do a segment on online hate, when they knowingly contribute to it. If they somehow manage to make it through this, Madi and Peter getting out of the country, volunteering and going on some adventures would put things into perspective. I’m not able to excuse Barb’s behaviour because I actually think it borderlines on something much more sinister. If people applaud her for it, I hope they’re never subjected to such toxicity themselves.

@Sprite I agree with you. I am actually shocked that there’s people who would turn this around on Madi. Madi and Peter are imperfect and flawed, they’re also clearly decent human beings who don’t have any malice. IMO the same can’t be said for others. Even a friend showing them support when they needed it most is twisted against them. With all of this they’ll either feel like it's just too much, or it’s going to make them even stronger. Time will tell. I really do wish everyone the best and I hope they all find happiness whatever that means for them. All JMO.

Just because someone doesn't bow down to someone being toxic and uncalled for that doesn't make them un-christian like IMO.

In many ways Madi reminds me of Sharleen and Sharleen is one of a handful of contestants who I truly like and admire. I love her blog All the Pretty Pandas because Sharleen is logical, articulate and can see different viewpoints. She is objective and always kind even when she is being critical. Obviously, she is older and more worldly, but I can see Madi as a younger version of Sharleen. Yes, she still has lots of growing to do, life to experience, but I think she will get better with age. She is strong in her beliefs and in herself and she seems to have parents who have taught her well. They should be very proud of her and how she handled herself on this idiotic show and she should be proud of herself. For someone so young to have dealt with all that Peter and tptb threw her way with such grace is impressive...and I am rarely impressed by anyone...particularly from this sh*t show! Well done Madi.

I have a lot of admiration for Sharleen too @Sprite. She noted in her recent recap that Madi actually articulated one of her main points about Peter this season. I think Madi is intelligent and strong-willed and still figuring herself out at 23. I only have to look at Madi's work with foster parenting recruitment, promoting cancer charities, and volunteering at orphanages to see that her heart is open and loving. But of course such things don't mean much if you're not also kind to those close to you. Madi seems to have a very close knit friendship circle of intelligent and kind women, and a wonderful support system through Auburn Basketball. Her family and friends clearly love her. She stayed out of drama with the other women throughout the show, never spoke ill of anyone, but stood her ground. That's showing maturity and grace. Madi's parents should be proud of her, and any sane Mother would at least be open to getting to know her on a deeper level, at the very least when you know it would mean the world to your child. All JMO.

I think barb did the opposite of what she was hoping and pushed them even further into each other’s arms

Yes I think there's a good chance it will have the opposite affect than Barb intended. IMO it really depends whether Peter has seen enough now watching his Mother's behavior to finally realize just how manipulative she can be. He obviously loves his family a lot, but for him to ever build a healthy relationship and life outside of his parent's control he needs to create some distance. That'll be a big decision. The fact that he broke up with HA in the first place was a step in choosing to follow his own heart. And that he still wanted to work things out with Madi knowing he was going against his Mother's wishes points to Barb's lessening control already. It might be why she threw such a big tantrum.

When controlling people start to lose their grip they begin to panic, what we saw is Barb going nuclear in the hopes it'd make Peter stop. But if Madi and he remain close to each other and are supported by their friends and her family, then it would actually push him to go forward and be even more bonded with her. This is really the time for him to break-free of Barb's control. I don't know yet if he'll do it fully, but there's at least a chance, and for his future ability to ever find happiness, I really hope he takes the leap (tbh it's going to have to happen eventually, it might as well be alongside the woman he loves). All JMO.
