I felt like Peter was their #1 choice and he was groomed to be the Bachelor.
And yes, it didn't help that Lauren Zima was practically drooling over Tyler 24/7 . I think she has toned down a lot recently.
He made comments indicating he didn’t care much for Tyler before the finale. There were mumblings on Instagram about the producers, not just Chris, not thinking Tyler was genuine. So I don’t think it was just about the finale.
Zima has cut that out. It was just part of the job for her. IMO her Tyler hype never seen genuine to me.
This is the same show that went back to Arie over choosing Peter K. They don’t think any person is bigger than the show and don’t bow down to any contestant. And they can create, yes create, an exciting season with any lead. JMO
My recollection is that Peter K was approached, negotiations did not find a solid middle ground and Arie was chosen, much to the majority of fans’ chagrin and disappointment. Then, CH appeared to have the same kind of lousy attitude toward Peter that I saw him later display toward Tyler.
That is what I remember. TPTB can’t make every candidate pliable enough to be a good risk for a season. I’m not surprised they are successful in posturing themselves as the most desirable outcome for every candidate and some contestants and fans obviously buy into it but, there are those who are not willing to play along and take a giant pass. Tyler is clearly a card carrying member of that club. It’s one of the reasons I’m a fan. All IMO.

Most of these shows happen like this with smaller production studios, producers with ideas, shot, then sold.
@Doggoneit
You are right, of course and it is quite likely ABC has nothing to do with the show.

Agreed! It seems a better fit for HGTV or whatever channel JoJo's show was on or some other random channel. If they have ID'd the correct show that is. All IMO.
I know this won't be a popular opinion but if its that show I hope he doesn't hype up 'his" own dog. That he left with his mother and doesn't see for months at a time, let alone care for it daily. Again IMO.

I think he will talk about his dog, unfortunately. It'll connect him to the purpose of the show, but I agree it will look disingenuous. I did hear that he's working alongside a pet charity for the show.
JoJo's show is great, but it felt lost in the CNBC network. Would be awesome if it were on HGTV, but also highly doubt it.

Yes, that’s what I remember about peter K. He thought he was bigger than he was and the show did not cave to his demands and got someone else.

JoJo's show doesn't really fit the HGTV type of show. That show was more business related which is why CNBC was a better outlet for it. Unfortunately, CNBC's foray into that type of show didn't go so well because it is a new area for their viewers. I'm not sure many of their viewers want to get into that type of real estate business.Seatee wrote:Tiggerlgh wrote:Chgohighlife wrote:Doggoneit wrote:@Chgohighlife most of the time these shows shoot, and then are sold to networks. If the speculated show is correct for Tyler, it would fit the type of show that HGTV does although I think Animal Planet might be a better fit for it. Animal Planet is owned by Discovery Network which is headquartered in NYC. Animal Planet headquarters is located in Baltimore. I could see them doing production for this type of show in California though. Nice weather most of the time would mean less weather issues during filming.

I don’t think either of them wants fame that bad it could also backfire if people smell bs. The bachelor audience doesn’t fail to call a contestant or couple out if they thinking they are faking it for fame/followers. Lol

I think both Tyler and Hannah have move forward and their popularity is now more a function of what they do individually than as a BN couple. That ship has sailed a while ago and I believe most of their fans are now curious to see where each one goes from here. They have made career moves that distanced them from BN or at least opens into other worlds ( DWTS for Hannah and Tyler’s many projects, including upcoming possible TV show ) and both have expressed their gratitude for the experience while stressing that they are moving in other directions. Their contracts have either ended ( Tyler) or will soon be coming to an end ( Hannah) and that will free them even more to choose other avenues to freely pursue. It’s obvious to me that Hannah got the last nail in the coffin with her appearance on Peter’s promo and is going to be more careful with what she commits to.

@Astrobach Someone said it’s 2 years from the start of filming for the Lead (so until March 2021 until Hannah’s contract runs out).

@mbl thanks!
Oh, wow, I thought it was 1 year...2 years is a loooooonnnnggg time to be restricted or obligated by contract clauses!
Do we know if that’s something that has been negotiated by some or is a model used for everyone? I guess the contestants are on a different level with 6 months contracts.

@Astrobach I also heard it was two years for leads. If her relationship with Disney doesn’t work out, I could see Hannah going back to the south settling down and having babies sooner than later. JMO
I could see Tyler doing more shows however. He seems game to try anything new IMO, assuming the tea about the new show is true.

2 years for the lead makes sense. Rings have to be returned to ABC if it ends before 2 years. ABC (in the past) had the right to televise a wedding with ABC having full control if it happened during the 2 year period and they also had the right to refuse to televise a wedding. Not to mention all the different times the lead pops up on various shows in the franchise during that time period.
I would guess that the contract states that they are required to do anything show related during that time if TPTB ask them to do it. I would also think media appearances are somewhat covered by the contract. ABC may even have to give permission for some shilling or ads they do and have the right to deny them doing something if TPTB want.
When I look at what some of the leads have done during the 2 year period after their show, I can see that TPTB have had an influence for some of them. Some have gotten advantages that have helped to promote their careers and those careers have really taken off once the lead was able to branch out from the franchise after that 2 year period was over. Then others chose to go back to their previous life and doing the required media during that time and waiting until after that 2 years was over to move forward in the direction they wanted their careers to go.
It really is telling when looking at the timeline for the former leads. Some of them you know when that contract is up!
IMO
