Angie Kent - Carlin Sterritt - Bachelorette Australia - Season 5 - Discussion

I saw Angie and Carlin on Have You Been Paying Attention (HYBPA). Carlin was actually kind of funny/likeable unlike his persona on the show. In contrast Angie's face didn't move at all due to all the work she has had done.

I really hope the next person Bachelorette they cast has not had any work done. It is sending the wrong message to young girls IMO.

And about Angie...
What a horrible disappointment she turned out to be.
About her face: no surprises. I finally look at her more objectively than in
the beginning and she really looks like a woman in her 40s, after my friend stated that I cannot unsee it.
I am curious what her next move will be. She was jobless before the gig. What her plans are? Carlin will stick to shilling and fitness I guess. I don't think he would have the audicity to go to castings. It would backlash. Or maybe he just doesn't care and will do it anyway.

I can only go with what I see, read and intuitively recognize of what is presented to me and it’s supported by some extra Astro info, ( I know many don’t give a da#$ about that ) but I can already see massive differences in the possibilities of a real successful relationship between Carlin and Angie, compare to Matt and Chelsie. The latter didn’t stand a chance and I saw that a while ago, before the lack of S/M alerted everyone. I didn’t want to bring people down and sometimes things work in mysterious ways.
On the Carlin and Angie side, they have better communication, better compatibility in values and beliefs, drive, ambition and have a true respect and friendly rapport. Plus they have some strong long term binding element. Again, it’s up to them, but it looks good to me.
By the way, I’m not implying anything negative per se about Matt and Angie because it’s a question of the right mix or blend of energies not who is right or wrong. They are lacking some vital component, IMO and had serious challenges to overcome that are better done separately.
I enjoy the good fun and easy rapport that Angie and Carlin are showing and it’s not an acting job to me.

I know what you mean when you refer to your astrological explanation, and that is fine with me There are many things that are difficult to explain and that doesn't mean they cannot work, some people will find your explanation interesting and some will decide not to believe in it, but you are still sharing with us your thoughts and that is great I am happy to read all views and various sources of information, that is why I am here:)

I agree with you, IMO what Angie and Carlin have is not an act, it is real; I felt their connection while watching the show (even though I think the producers tried to downplay it, it was still strong), and I also feel the love now during their interviews. IMO Carlin and Angie are not trying to prove anything, they are being themselves. I believe Carlin when he says that everything becomes 'noise' to them; they know they cannot control the rumours so they just have to focus on what they have and what they want because otherwise they are going to lose their peace trying to please the public

Carlin is not bad at all. I have seen comments of some people here saying that they know people who know Carlin, and all of them think highly of him. I also happen to know some people who know Carlin well and all agree that Carlin is a really really nice guy in real life. The negative opinion some people have about him is based on the show, which is edited to the extreme.  Even the trashy tabloids revealed that all the guys like Carlin and found him genuine.  Basically, I see no reason to believe that Carlin was dishonest, he omitted things because he didn't want to be stereotyped, and just take a look at the social media, the moment people started seeing him on TV (apparently his ads were on from week 1, so on Facebook people wrote about those ads), people became suspicious! They thought that since he was an actor then he was there for the wrong reasons. Those comments were posted even before the episode in which Jamie discussed his concerns about Carlin with Angie, aired. Carlin was right expecting people reacting that way, the bias were strong.


One observation: most of what Carlin does is considered as modelling not acting. Here in Australia, and I believe also in some  European countries, saying that you are a professional actor when you are predominantly doing TV ads and sporadic extras is a bit weird, and is looked down. I understand why Carlin didn't want to call himself an actor, what he does is side acting and extras (not really acting) but that is not his main job. One thing, Azzurra @Azzurra  I don't understand your comment saying that you don't think Carlin would have 'the audacity to go to castings'. Why not? He is part of an agency, I used to go to castings in my 20s and did some ads. I don't see the problem with it, it is fun, extra cash and if they think you are the type and like your work you got the job. A casual model is called by agencies who receive commissions. I never put much effort into it at all because I had a career, it was just fun. I think another poster mentioned here that her sister was also doing some acting yet she had a career. Ads are really not big deals.

For me his acting has never been a problem, lies were so for me he can do whatever he wants, I wouldn't care.

Somehow I am maybe slowly warming up to him / I understand the logic behind his excuses.

On the other hand, I dislike Angela more and more with every article/day.

Oh, I get it, now!  Yes, I agree that perhaps people will judge him even more if he went to auditions. Just today he appeared on a Harvey Norman ad, I saw someone posting that on Facebook, I never comment on FAcebook so I didn't utter a word, I go there just to read comments. I saw how some people were already criticising him for the ad but some of his fans were taking his side. I don't think Carlin is going to stop doing that just to appease the masses. He referred to it as 'noise'. He has to live his life the way he wants it.

To be honest, before the finale I didn't really like Angie much, I never followed her,   but after the finale I enjoyed her interviews with Carlin, I like how they are together. I just wish she restrained herself from saying certain things, because they can be taken out of context.

I don't think the problem was the acting - the problem was him deleting his StarNow profile and everything in his bios that said he was an actor right before. It doesn't look like he is working at Hurstville F45 anymore either so I wonder what their next move is.

Oh good!! Actually me and my friend went to train there on the weekend and asked if he was there out of interest and got that response haha. They're probs just sick of Bach fans not wanting the other trainers haha!
