They need time and support but instead they have to deal everyday with people expecting them to break up.
If Angie and Carlin expected unconditional public support for their relationship, they went on the wrong show, IMO.

In Carlin Angie found a man she was attracted to and chose at the end. Carlin found Angie, so IMO they did go on the right show. It can't be helped the majority of Australia had chosen Timm For Angie and her not picking him means she and Carlin are doomed.

That often happens though - IMO the show is designed for the audience to root for the F2 or the dumping at the FRC won't have the emotional impact TPTB desire. The public being skeptical about/critical of Angie and Carlin's relationship is a separate issue IMO.

I think the negative headlines & reaction is mostly due to Carlin’s storyline on the show (which wasn’t just producer influenced considering his own brother sold him down the river ) not Timm. Idk I feel like people moved on pretty easily from Angie & Timm since the season’s ended. The real issue is that people think Angie & Carlin’s relationship is insincere. I can say though from the American side of the franchise, most of the couples that have lasted are the ones that had to face backlash. Instead of tearing them apart, it brought them closer together. All jmo.

I actually think the reverse is what’s going to happen. I think the distance is giving them both a convenient excuse for not being all in with each other but once they live in the same city they’re gonna be forced to confront the fact that imo they don’t actually like each other very much. They remind me of Nick & Vanessa from the US version in that sense. Jmo.Bobette wrote:The whole dynamic was weird and awkward IMO and I'm intrigued to know what Angie was worried Carlin would write when she told him "just be careful what you write".
It's also interesting that she wrote down "distance" so fast, considering it's been speculated upthread that if they do split that would be an easy no-fault excuse to give.

I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t hide the fact that I don’t like someone - my facial expressions usually give it away . I’ve seen nothing to suggest that Carlin and Angie don’t like each other very much.

I still have my doubts they'll last that long but if they're still together when she moves, I totally agree. I just don't see their lifestyles as compatible. It's interesting that Angie is the one ignoring Carlin's phonecalls - she's seems to be the one calling the shots IMO.
Most interesting to me was Angie's reaction - telling him to "be careful" about what he wrote down. That suggests to me that neither distance nor ignored phonecalls are what they really argue most about (and whatever it is, Angie clearly doesn't want it known IMO).

I wonder if people still think Timm was a good choice for Angie? It’s clear to me that they were never really that suited. Timm’s immaturity is really on display lately imo. It was Angie’s choice, not the public’s and people need to get over it!

Saying I don’t think they like each other very much isn’t the same as saying they dislike each other. I just think on a base level they’re different people. Like if they were just two people who knew each other without the romantic aspect, I don’t think that either of them would ever choose to hang out with the other just because they enjoy each other’s company.sprout wrote:I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t hide the fact that I don’t like someone - my facial expressions usually give it away . I think Carlin is a genuine and sincere person and I think that when they break up sooner or later, it's him that's going to be hurt by it.

Timm was great value TV but his stories just show how incompatible he and Angie would have been. Chalk and cheese imo!
She wants a very different life from Timm's; Carlin being a wannabe actor would be zero issue for Angie in reality, she loves the TV/celeb world. IMO.

I'm no fan of Carlin but I agree he will be more affected by the split. Angie will very easily snap back to single mode IMO - indeed her lifestyle seems barely any different so far. I would certainly expect to see Carlin in a new relationship long before Angie.
I also suspect Carlin is probably putting more effort into the relationship at this stage, since he has more to gain (i.e. she was already known, but his fame is tied to being F1). IMO Angie would find a split a relief in some respects, but she can't do it just yet.
Out of interest I read a bit of her book and it's pretty clear why she needed to be with F1 while promoting it. The theme is very much "I used to be a workaholic with Daddy issues who avoided relationships but now I realise I can have a career and a man" IMO.
IMO she desperately wants to look like she's in a happy relationship, to make it seem she achieved her goal, so people will buy her book and follow her "life lessons." And out of the guys who went to the end, she decided Carlin was the best fit for the role, IMO.
