Re: Angie Kent - Carlin Sterritt - Bachelorette Australia - Season 5 - Discussion
Not every couple is comfortable with over the top PDA. And if Carlin and Angie were snapped kissing passionately it wouldn't be printed or if it was, the caption would read "keeping up appearances". Negative public comments are fuelled by negative media articles. And the media know printing negative articles will sell, but it doesn't mean the rumours are true. Magazines simply want to sell lots of copies and make money.
Timm was the Australian favourite and IMO people want to see problems as it proves Angie made the wrong choice.

@Storybook I agree that Stu and Sophie never came across as genuine. This is not the case with Angie and Carlin, who are a real couple imo.Storybook wrote:I have seen Angie smiling - in Instagram videos and on TV interviews and even on 'Have you been paying attention' (even though the media reported Angie being furious at Carlin).
Not for one minute did I think Sophie and Stu were the real deal. I knew they were never genuine. Sophie wanted to further her career (which she successfully did). Sophie and Stu were a sham and the rows they had were full on, nothing like a cross look between Carlin and Angie. In the same way I knew Sophie wasn't serious about finding love, I believe Angie is serious and she choose Carlin because he will be there for her.
I’m glad to see that Angie had a good turn out for her book signing. Although I’m baffled why the author of that article thinks everyone should’ve cheered Angie when she walked in? Such a strange article imo

This is so true IMO as well. I'm not even comparing Angie and Carlin with Sophie and Stu. IMO, they are more like Matty J and Laura, Georgia and Lee (both couples had an immediate connection as did Angie and Carlin). Anyway, who knows anything really and all I'm interested in is what I see.Storybook wrote:I have seen Angie smiling - in Instagram videos and on TV interviews and even on 'Have you been paying attention' (even though the media reported Angie being furious at Carlin).

The comments from this article about a "wardrobe malfunction" and it wasn't negative, all the comments were negative, with many people saying exactly the same things I see - that there is no chemistry, that they are faking it, and that they are only presenting as a couple for contractual obligations/promotional purposes IMO.
This is a general discussion thread and just because members don't see things the same way doesn't make them "closed minded" or "inflexible". What one person perceives as "real" can be perceived as fake by another and I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, nor looking to have my opinion changed, just posting my thoughts with evidence/justification to back them up.
Anyone not wishing to read my comments is welcome to add me to their Foes list. Instructions to do so are here and I'm sure @AllAboutLove or one of the other Mods can assist with this process if it is unclear.

It is the Daily Mail, what can be expected from such a tabloid? Most of the its 'journalists' are in reality a bunch of neophytes who probably have to invent stories to fill their daily quote. I rarely read rubbish media but sometimes I am curious and I go and read the comments I see below the articles and, it is shocking, there are some extremely malicious users commenting there; fortunately, I will never meet any of them in real life. I really don't give a toss about what the nasty masses say, the show is over and IMO Carlin and Angie are happy. All the hatred I see on Facebook, Instagram, and The Daily Fail will not convince me that Angie and Carlin are not in love.

None of us know them and only see them through an Insta lens so none of our opinions on the relationship are more or less valid than others. Angie and Carlin being happy is not a fact, it is an opinion, as is the opinion that they are not. The point of the forum is to sleuth based on limited evidence.

@Genevieve Australia I’m not admin obviously but I don’t think you’ve done anything wrong. You’ve added imo, which is what people are supposed to do. Your previous post is valid imo.
Please keep posting because I think you raise some very valid points.

I thought Angie was enamored with Carlin from night 1 and I think he genuinely cares for her. Do they have career aspirations- yup, but they seem to share similar career goals for now so I don't view that as a big deal. At the end of the day, happiness is hard to come by so I don't begrudge anyone anything that brings them joy and they seem cute and loved up. I wish them, and everyone, the best because it ain't easy out there.

Well this thread is getting some heat! Just a reminder of the Rules I have PM'd those of you who need to be more repectful. If the noise continues, the thread will have to be locked and cleaned up. We are all adults - let's act like it!

Thanks for stating your position. I have a lot of admiration for your sleuthing skills and experience and am not about to skip your comments or make you a foe based on something we disagree on. I enjoy a good, fair debate and intend to continue to state my POV as I see it, in a respectful manner.

This is a nice article. Angie talks about her book and her relationship with Carlin. Makes a nice change from the more ‘trashier’ tabloids imo.

Question? If I see a post that I believe is breaking the rules, why can’t I report it? Is it because I’m (relatively) new? Is a PM to a moderator an acceptable alternative means of bringing this up?Norcalgal wrote:Well this thread is getting some heat!
