The Bachelorette's ratings continue to tank as a former Channel 10 boss blames the show's disastrous figures on 'viewer fatigue' and 'bad casting'

Former Studio 10 executive producer Rob McKnight told The Daily Telegraph on Thursday that the ratings setback for The Bachelorette is something that would cause the network concern.

'To me it's a mixture of viewer fatigue with three Bachelor franchises back-to-back and just bad casting,' he said.

'While the idea of two sisters is an interesting take, these two young ladies just don't have the appeal of others we've seen in the role,' he said.

Poor Pete, being drag to F1 when Becky knew it wont work since she won't move for love.

Sam Wood and Snezana started with both living in different states. Finally one of them have to move. Its too much for Pete to move when he has to run 4 cafes.

So ridiculous! Did Becky think that she’s such a catch that any bloke would be willing to move to Newcastle for her? I mean, it’s a nice place, but it’s not high on the list of places people move to!
Or did she think that miraculously a top Newcastle bloke she hadn’t met would be sitting there waiting for her?

@Dirty Street Pie Yep I had been feeling sorry for Becky being lured into this role due to her sister's massive ego and willingness to do anything TPTB asked to get the role, but if Becky really expected Pete to move after spending 1-2 days together max, I guess narcissism runs in the family.

That said I still think it's more likely "distance" was just a convenient excuse when it became obvious IMO no one was into either girl.  Frazer probably got offered the same out IMO - agree to play the role of F1 and we'll get you off the hook with a quick post-show split blamed on closed borders.  

ETA: I imagine Elly is probably legitimately shocked people hate her season - she seems to think she's a total catch IMO.  Perhaps this kind of feedback might provide her with some clarity.  She must have known Becky would struggle and should be ashamed of herself for encouraging her to do it IMO.

Yeah that's what I thought.  And TPTB are probably quite happy for the pics to have been leaked since for a brief moment viewers may have thought something exciting was going to happen at the end of the season but... nope.
