Re: Blake & Holly - Discussion - Thread #1
I may have said this before, but I don't believe Holly knows what she wants. Michael and Blake seem so very much different in their personalities. I question whether she will be able to deal with what appears to be Blake's snarky side.

I disagree with that because I had a very serious relationship with a guy who couldn't be more different from my husband. I just knew that he was the right guy for me from the start while with the other guy I didn't know 2 years into the relationship. As she said during filming, love shouldn't be so hard. I don't think they should rush into marriage like they did the engagement but it doesn't mean it won't work out.

IMO all engagements on TB and TBette are extremely rushed and forced. I don't get why TPTB force that whole ring thing at the end of every season. That and the whole leading on the F2 (and often F3) till the very end is one of my peeves of this series.
Now Holly and Blake do fall under that category of a very quick engagement, probably with the direct prodding of the producers. Hopefully this is the real deal and they end up happy (and even married).
However, I don't see why most can see stars in their eyes when watching an engagement on TB/TBette when the lead is dating multiple folks and spending overnights etc with them just days prior to an engagment at the FRC. If that is acceptable then so should what Blake/Holly have done. At least they did a "test drive" in real life out of the bubble, however short it maybe. But thats JMO.

I couldn't agree more with this post. That's always been my biggest issue with this show. Although I feel Blake and Holly are rushing this, it's still not as foolish as the lead and F1 getting engaged on The Bachelor/ette.

How long a couple dates before they marry really has nothing to do with the success of the marriage. The people in the marriage and how much they each value the marriage matter much more.
In my first marriage I knew my husband for two years, and then dated him for a year before we got married. We got divorced because he always put his job ahead of me our children.
In my second marriage, we got married within seven months of meeting. We just celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago. He is a wonderful father to all of our children and I am much happier in this marriage than I was in my first one.
I think Holly and Blake stand as good a chance at having a good marriage as anyone - better in fact than most couples that get engaged at the end of the Bachelor and Bachelorette shows. ;)

Absolutely. Their odds are a lot better than any lead and F1. I think Blake and Holly are really cute together and I hope this works out for the both of them. I wish them the best.

I think the sooner they get married the better their chances are at making it to the alter. She seems like the type the longer she is engaged she becomes restless and wants to be free from any type of commitment. JMHO

Bachelor Pad's Holly and Blake Are Engaged
By Tim Nudd
Holly Durst may have voted off Blake Julian on Bachelor Pad this week, but the note she handed him at the rose ceremony – saying that it wasn't the end for them – has turned out to be rather telling.
That's because the pair, both 28, who have flirted all season long, are now engaged to be married, a source tells PEOPLE.
Their courtship was always complicated, given that Durst's former fiancé Michael Stagliano was also competing on the show, and still had feelings for her. And Julian himself was involved with fellow contestant Melissa Schreiber throughout much of the season.

But freed from the Bachelor Pad mansion, it appears their flirting has blossomed into true love.
The season 2 finale of Bachelor Pad airs Monday (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.

I'm so happy to read all these good things about Holly and Blake. I've read some negative things on other boards.

I have friends that once they got married they felt more settled and grounded. I guess it just depends on the two people in the relationship.
What do I know though because I have been engaged to my finance for a long time and we both feel settled.
