Hannah Brown - Bachelorette 15 - Discussion

On Elena Bersten's Instagram there is a second picture of them in the studio. There is Alan, Hannah, Elena, Gene and the two older girls. Sorry, I don't know how to bring it over.

100% agree. IMO She has a great deal of work ahead in just figuring out her life and the last thing Hannah needs is to be emotionally entangled with a gorgeous traveling dancer. Every season there is a “couple” some people invest in. IMO, it’s a ploy to increase votes. Every season there is slight innuendo and the fans take care of the rest. When the votes are no longer needed, POOF! Pickings are getting slimmer as more and more of the pros marry.....each other.

This has been mentioned before, but a showmance is when a couple gets “outed” on the show and their packages are all about their relationship. The judges and hosts make comments about it as well when it’s a showmance. This has not happened with Hannah and Alan. There’s been zero mention of it. 

Whatever is going on with them has been private. They’ve been increasingly private on their social media the last two weeks. No one is saying they’re each other’s soulmate and they’ll be together forever here, but nothing is being done for votes or a show storyline.

Yes, I agree with that.  Hannah and Alan have been downplaying any romance rumors from the start, so it's definitely not a showmance trying to gain votes.    As much as I'd love to know what's going on between them, I'm glad they're keeping this private, it has to make for less pressure which is what both need right now

I personally don't think there is anything romantic going on between Hannah and Alan - they are friends and dance partners, that's it. If they were having a relationship, it's a bit odd that Hannah always sounds to be having such a hard time in LA in her weekly Bustle diaries. I would think that if she was in the honeymoon part of a new relationship she would be less miserable in LA. JMO

Life is messy so I’m not sure why potentially having feelings for someone would have to mean that everything else in her world is perfect. That’s not how life works. You can be happy in one aspect of your life and stressed in another. That’s not the least bit odd. That’s called real life and someone in their mid twenties trying to figure out how to balance a new world. 

She just moved to a major city away from her closest friends and family. That alone is terrifying, especially since she was still living at home when she moved to LA. She went through a pretty traumatic experience on the bachelorette. Yes, a lot of it was due to her poor decision making, but that sort of experience will linger for a while. 

This is a direct quote from Hannah in regards to her relationship with Alan. It seems like he’s helping her grow, which is incredibly important for Hannah and it’s special. Whatever is happening, he’s wonderful for her:

“We’re both young, we’re both learning more about ourselves, and to be able to do that together and just continue to grow each week has been really awesome for us.”

I don’t subscribe to the notion that romantic relationships should heal all your emotional struggles. Hannah’s gone through a lot in the past year and on top of that, DWTS is extremely physically and emotionally taxing. Imo the worst thing she could do right now is use any relationship as a quick fix. She’s got stuff to work through and I’m glad she’s actually working through them. Jmo.

She's also written OVER and OVER (in her Bustle diaries) about what a terrible communicator he is. I don't think they're together. You can grow together as friends and dance parters without being romantic. IMO.

@Bleiby527 have you missed the parts in recent diaries where she’s clearly stated he’s worked so hard for her to get better at communicating with her because he cares that much? Or that she’s worked hard to be better for him too? Or that they’ve had really deep conversations where they’ve cried together and have realized how lucky they are? The list can go on. There’s been a clear difference over the last three weeks IMO.

But why does that have to mean anything romantic is going on between them? They are spending all of their time together and are very good friends. Having a dance partner on DWTS is a very unique experience where you are bonded closely with someone. I have seen no evidence from Hannah that she has any romantic attraction or interest in Alan. I can see Alan having a crush on her, but I don't think she is interested in him in that way. All of the things you said can happen when two people are close friends. IMO

Hannah has also written that Alan is working on his communication skills recently.  Alan has talked  about them working on communication. Anyone she dates will have flaws. She has them too. I don’t think pointing out one of Alan’s flaws means anything.   Not saying they are a couple for certain but couples have issues they work through like Hannah and Alan are doing.   JMO

I continue to think something is going on because of how quiet they’ve become. Hannah doesn’t post ig stories hardly anymore unless it’s dwts related or an ad. She is very quiet about her day to day because she is spending a lot of time outside the studio with Alan as well.  JMO.  Hannah IMO is not spending this much time with a man she is not interested in. I don’t even see her hanging with Demi, Katie or heather much.
