Not sure I like the dark hair on Emma.

I am impressed by James! He will go far. If he keeps this up, I suspect he will win.

I had not seen him in a very long time. Still very handsome and seems to be very family oriented. Also, IMO a very eye-catching dancer. My favorite last night. I found this picture of him with his family. Wow! Five children. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/306174474665459039/

I have not watched this show for a few seasons and missed the whole Bobby J. debacle... looks like it prompted some readjustment for the voting and points allotted to contestants but also the scoring.
I liked the show yesterday, and was please with most of the criticism and judging and scoring. You could tell they were trying to strike a balance between judging ‘ real ‘ ballroom moves as opposed to the ‘ grinding and girating’ as Len puts it giggling

In no particular order, here are my thoughts and observations.

Hannah’s intro package, complete with Alan’s limo entrance and CH blessings, speaks volume of the position she has in ABC ‘s eyes to bring in the ratings and somehow getting forgiven for cancelling Kaitlyn ‘s appearance a few years back. They may not have scored Tyler, but they will use this Bachelorette appearance to the full extent.
I thought she did well, albeit you could recognize her nervousness as she rushed a bit in her dance, and talked vivaciously a lot afterward. To come in first is a BIG pressure and she delivered a solid performance. Her score is very encouraging and I hope she relaxes a bit more and let’s her need for perfection go some. Her authenticity is always more attractive anyway.

I like Lauren Alaina and have followed her musical journey here and there, and I am rooting for her to do well. She was VERY nervous and
you could tell that she was relieved that she did achieve going through the routine without getting sick... and shows promise, if she gets the right coaching and confidence in herself.

Karamo is another one to watch, he has a wonderful personality and will be a fan favorite for sure. As his dancing will get more relaxed, he could place in the top 6.

Mary Wilson, yes the mandatory older person of iconic stature. She looked like she enjoyed the dancing but she is very stiff and lacked the rhythm necessary to go far but she will also be protected and somewhat spared too many harsh criticism.

As for Lamar, I couldn’t help but feel really bad for him... omg. His height is a major handicap and with a 5’7 partner, even as professional as Peta, it is going to be very challenging for him to find his groove. The guy was very stiff and awkward and didn’t look to enjoy any of it. This may be too much for him, as he is used to be in the top of his particular sport and now to lay at the bottom will not be good for his ego. Considering all his personal battles also plays a role in his attitude and I’m hoping he at least gains some sense of confidence outside his normal world.

Christy / Sailor. I am still unsure about this dramatic turn of event. There is already a whole lot of conspiracy about this ‘accident’ being played up a bit...to the point of faking it according to Wendy Williams...from what I saw and the video played... it’s hard to compute that she broke her wrist as she landed on her back and then her hands. Plus the way they showed very little of the aftermath and Val’s expression, cut to the daughter in the car and Christy’s plea to take her place... that’s A LOT !!! There is some missing info there. I’m not denying that she got hurt or even broke something, but the whole episode seemed a little too convenient to not raise questions...
Sailor looked good for learning something in 3 days...again a little eyebrow raising...? We’ll see how it plays out.

I am not someone who know or follows too much news but to have Ray Lewis there, at first, I wasn’t sure who he was, but I swear I got scared just looking at him dancing there, he had this intense look in his face... like he legit got me weird vibes... and I read afterwards that he is possible murderer??? What the H? I am not sure his dancing was great anyway and even though he moved well, I’m uncomfortable with him there.

Aly, one of the 5th Harmony singers. She was ok, but again, counting on her stage presence and hip hop moves and twerking is NOT what this ballroom dance is about and we’ll see if she apply herself to learn in a more professional way. She may do well and has a good fan base.

It ended on a very good note with James, with a beautiful family scene that underline his values, he looks good on stage and moves really well. His competitive spirit will also factor in and he’s definitely a top contender.

All in all, a pleasant show and looking forward to root for Hannah and a few others.

Yeah, I think Lamar will be gone real soon. I don't think he'll have the votes nor the scores to keep him in. Peta's fan base isn't enough. She has been off the show for a couple of seasons as well so some of her fans may have moved on to other pros.
Fans are fickle at times!

Mary Wilson, yes the mandatory older person of iconic stature. She looked like she enjoyed the dancing but she is very stiff and lacked the rhythm necessary to go far but she will also  be protected and somewhat spared too many harsh criticism.

I think Peta is the tallest female pro they have which is probably why she got Lamar.

Sailor looked good for learning something in 3 days...again a little eyebrow raising...? We’ll see how it plays out. I am not on the conspiracy train for this injury. She used her right hand/arm to break her fall and that is the one she broke. You can't see it clearly because of the skirt she was wearing. I broke my hand falling like that when I was 39. Hand hit the ground before the rear end. Hurt like heck and when it was still hurting the next morning, I stopped at the doctor's on the way to work. Had an x-ray and it was broken. Christy is 65 years old and the bones are not as strong so I can see why she had such an extensive break. Had she been 20 or 25 years younger, yeah, it might not have been more than a sprain.

I have no problem with Sailor replacing her mom. I read that she was coming to CA for the live show anyways so they asked if she was available to sub in for her mom when they knew Christy couldn't continue on. Evidently her schedule allowed her to do it. Don't think she will win though, more of a mid-pack elmination IMO.

I look for Lamar, Ray and Sean to be in the first 4 to go. Mary might be in there as well.

That was the first whole episode I've watched in years. Overall I enjoyed it. I thought a lot of them did well, including Hannah, and some did dreadful. The judging was strict but I thought it was consistent.

I also like Karamo, Lauren, Sailor, and James who could be the one to beat. Least favorite were Sean, Ray, and Lamar although give him points that he did as well as he did given the height difference.

I didn't see how Christie broke her arm until I re-watched the video. She landed on it behind her body and can only imagine what that did. My mom shattered her ankle stepping funny off a curb so don't think it was a setup.

Glad the show is back! Could have done without Bobby Bones on camera over and over again.

Everyone danced decent except for Lamar and Spicer. They should be the first 2 eliminated. Wish Lauren had a better professional who would actually give her better dance choreography then Gleb. Usually going 1st is tough but Hannah was great!! James was amazing, I think he has a chance to be in the finals.

I read somewhere that the voting might only be while the show is live so only ET/CT can vote. Meaning me being the West Coast will have to vote without seeing the dances. no I could live feed but was going to do that with The Voice so... giggling

I am having a difficult time with Ray Lewis being on DWTS as he was directly connected to a murder. And, to me, he has scarey looking eyes.
