Yeah. I’m just gonna say it and I’m sorry. For a POC to get anywhere in America, they have to be absolutely freaking perfect, in every way. Our POC former President? Squeaky clean in his personal life more so than pretty much every other president I can think of. IMO, of course, but also sorry, not sorry. He absolutely needed to be, or he never would have achieved what he did.

To a much lesser degree, Rachel Lindsay? Her dad’s a federal judge, she’s a lawyer, and is arguably the most accomplished lead we have ever had. That’s the kind of caliber you sadly need to present in America to get any kind of clout as a POC. The fact that pretty perfect, mature, stand up, accomplished Mike is getting any kind of push back, when basic IG influencer wannabes Colton, Arie, Nick, could go on, and on, and on were given the green light is to me, pretty telling. And once again, The Bachelor. A microcosm of America and I love pointing out just how messed up we are as a society.

I agree. They have standards they must meet that many previous, mediocre leads didn't have to imo. I mean, we're already talking about, as of now, non existent skeletons in closets.

Wait a minute. Maybe @HEA just doesn't care for Mike as next lead and it has nothing to do with him being African American. I think Mike would do a fine job being the Bach, but honestly I have to wonder why anyone goes on this show in first place. TPTB are... :uptonogood

I'd vote Mike if not for the dude sitting at 1M followers and has celeb women thirsting over him. I don't see how it's not Tyler's to lose. He will bring the viewers and the women.

Not that Tyler really needs it.

Let's see now...he's a 31 year old Air Force vet with a real-life job as a portfolio manager. The three pillars in his life are his mother, sister and grandma. He's handsome and articulate. This is Mike in the real world. Vibe doesn't get any better than this, IMO.

I agree! Everyone is entitled to their opinion but this one confuses me. He seems like such a stand up guy and is being promoted for the bachelor all over social media.

I mean Mike has celeb women thirsting after him too. Demi Lovato has been very vocal in her crush on Mike. As for SM followers, POC in this franchise will just never have anywhere close to the amount of followers as their white counterparts, it’s just the nature of the fan base. I’m not against Tyler as the bachelor, I’d still be excited if he was the lead because I’m a big fan and he just seems like such a good guy, but Mike’s my first choice. He’s older, he’s sweet, he respects women, and I think his season would just have a more mature vibe to it. All jmo obvs.

Very well said. I've also never gotten any indication that Tyler is interested in the Bachelor role, has anyone else? Sure it's been talked about because he's so popular and so attractive, but I've never had the vibe from him that he wanted it. Of course I could be misreading the situation. Am I missing something?
