Carlin Sterritt - First Date Guy - Bachelorette Australia - Angie Kent - Season 5 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

None of the contests know if they are going to win the lead’s heart, so IMO everyone goes on the show for one reason or another. If Inwas asked if I’d like to be the Bach/ette, I’d say if the lead didn’t pick me, then yes why not. Pretty normal. I can’t imagine Carlin strutting around all the time saying he’s going to be the next bachelor - doesn’t quite fit with what I’ve seen of him so far. JMO and who knows

I just keep thinking, imagine you are Angie.  You had your doubts about F1 during filming and your gut was telling you something was off.  He tells you he's still married.  Another contestant tells you he's only there to further his acting/TV career and wants to be next Bachelor.  But you dismissed all those concerns and pick him as your F1.

Then you get home and Google him.  And what do you see?  An IMDB page, countless sponsorship posts, a TV ad where he is literally wearing the exact same outfit he was wearing when you met, pics of him modelling as a groom which look identical to his actual wedding pics.  I'd feel like I had been fleeced and wonder where the characters end and the real person begins.

I wouldn't be surprised if they split immediately and TPTB went into crisis mode.  Angie didn't reappear on SM for weeks after the FRC and TPTB were suspiciously silent - in contrast to how they were tripping over themselves to tell us Matt had met the love of his life.  And then there was that weird premiere delay, her vague/evasive answers in interviews, and talks of regret.

I don't see them as compatible IRL and as @Bachbee says upthread I can't see them fitting into each other's lives.  If they still present as a couple after the finale I will suspect it's because Angie has a book to promote, and she would have seen how badly it was received when past Leads either chose no one or split with their F1 so quickly.  JMO

@Bobette  I'm imagining Angie's concerns are 'hope my book sells well' and 'what is my next job going to be, because I don't have one'.  I don't think for one second that a partner being now divorced/about to be divorced or working in the same entertainment industry as her would bother Angie at all. JMO

@Agent99  I agree. And Angie was asked to be the Bachelorette, she agreed to it but I can't help thinking she did it primarily to further her career, if she found a guy suitable that was a bonus.
Angie didn't comment to Carlin about furthering his acting career (as Jamie had told her was the case). She only became upset at the belief Carlin wanted to be the next bachelor (and which of the guys wouldn't make that comment in passing?). IMO Carlin had told Angie about his acting background and it didn't bother her in the slightest. And why would it when Angie is in the TV industry herself.

There’s an assumption that Angie day didn’t know about Carlin’s acting whilst filming the show. I bet she did know. I could see Carlin telling her, just like he was still married but that never aired. I mean he mentioned to Angie about the terrible things that have happened in his life but we, as viewers, don’t know what they are because this was obviously discussed between Angie and Carlin and not aired. I’m betting Angie knew he’d done some acting, she also probably knew
he’d worked at Cotton On Clothing - such a scandalous, fame seeing job . Angie has shown she has a strong assertive personality on the show, yet she’s being made out to be some innocent poor damsel who has been duped into picking a terrible rogue . Angie is after fame, that is obvious to me with her TV appearances and book deal. She is also wanting kids and it sounds like she is planning a future where she can combine both.
As for Jamie’s claims about Carlin peacocking around about being the bachelor, I have read that his story is changing - first he’s claimed that all the boys that are currently on the show heard it and didn’t
back him, now he’s saying it happened very early on in the show and I that the boys who heard it had ALREADY left so they couldn’t back up his claims Me thinks someone’s nose is growing!

What’s the bet Jamie told Angie the same thing about Ciarran but that didn’t air because it wouldn’t tie in with the angle that Angie would never know if he was the one?

I bet she knew as well - her reaction when Jamie told her Carlin was only on the show to further his TV/acting career is IMO because she was already suspecting the same thing.  She keeps saying she thinks he's "too perfect" so obviously had doubts about him IMO.  Yes most contestants are seeking fame when they go on this show - but Carlin is the only professional actor (despite what his bio says). 

IMO his tears when confronted by Angie was because he could see his career/reputation going down the toilet if he was booted off the show for being a fake.  And I don't think Angie is a naiive damsel by any stretch of the imagination - she worked in TV production for years, which is IMO precisely why she said her biggest fear was choosing someone who was only there to boost their own profile/agenda.

Well shame on Angie if IMO she hasn’t deciphered yet whether she is being used since the show wrapped up since mid August and instead she is talking about having babies with some guy that is just there to “use” her. She is a grown azz woman and IMO should have the intelligence to decipher if the guy is into her by now. And if he is using her, no worries as I assume by the time she starts collecting the dough from her book sales, she can pronto drop his azz because IMO she has the free will to do so

In my view Carlin has the typical F1 edit, casting doubts on his being genuine is being shoved in our faces. Angie didn't question Carlin on his acting career (IMO she rubbed her hands in glee at this news). She did worry about his wanting to be the next bachelor because as has been said already she is chasing him as her F1.

 She is wanting confirmation that he likes her.  Nothing to do with what he does, I don't think Angie could care less about that imo

Yes why plan a family with such a deceptive guy Angie has mentioned she will have kids no matter what, so she could’ve dumped Carlin and still have kids on her own but they are together and making plans for the future.
