I did a little search, and there was a article out about their mitchmatched feelings for each other. Apparently some people sent it to Cassie. I get that she wanted to respond to this one, well because it basically says, that she's not into Colton that much, he's head over heels and she's not. Imo.

Her post was really well written, it made a lot of sense. Imo.

It's too bad that she felt the need to explain. It was very well written, sadly I doubt it's going to stop the negativity.

I don't know any of these people but its annoys me when they take the criticism to heart and as we have seen, it affects them deeply. They need to IMHO not give a rats butt what anyone thinks. It would be so much easier not to care about any of them other than their friends family and those who are important to them.

IA, and it wasn’t just the article. Before that there were two separate posts on Reddit (immediately labeled ”unverified tea” by the mods), and apparently also a new Instagram account. The content varied, but was still similar enough to come from the same person. Apart from the talk about mismatched feelings, there was also a claim that Colton doesn’t get along with Cassie’s family ( laugh out loud

).

It appears that someone is campaigning pretty hard against their relationship. I can understand why she (they?) felt that it had to be addressed.

I agree that ignoring public scrutinize is best however she makes some very good points that seem to need to be repeated because the same trolling keeps happening ever season to lots of couples post show. I have no idea how anyone can rid the fan base of blatant negativity toward people they watched on tv and sincerely hope she is accurate when she writes “most relationships don’t have people scrutinizing your body language, or have people criticizing or over inflating the subliminal meaning behind your every expression together”. The point that Cassie and Colton are a couple like any other RL couple at this time should be obvious yet as she says “At times it feels like our relationship status isn’t just a matter of our own happiness, but other’s happiness as well.”
Not sure how ill will can be extinguished from fan culture. When I first became aware of it I was shocked to be honest. I had no idea. Call me naive.
Perhaps speaking out, as Cassie has, will make more people aware of what they are dealing with. It may not be the best solution to address the fan base in this way however I have no idea what a better solution looks like.

@notarose Unfortunately, by addressing this she just brings more scrutiny to the two of them. It is a small portion of the audience who are that obsessed and this I feel will just entice them more. The rest don't care either way and will ignore, but those that are that invested will only be more emboldened by this because they see that they are getting to them.

I think the best solution is not to engage and/or lay off the SM. I know that seems an impossible task for people from BN since often their goal from coming on the show is to live leisurely by shilling and that requires followers and posting. So fandom is a double edged sword and she better learn to live with it or IMO they will end up breaking up under the pressure. Frankly, compared to everyone else coming off this show, I think this couple walked away with the least controversy. There didn't seem to be too many people hoping he would pick either of the other two finalists and there was no confusion about who he wanted or slept with. It was Cassie all the way, so she should count her blessing and ignore the few doubters.

Cassie will just need to learn to grow up and suck it up, IMO. Being a public figure is a two edged sword. EVERYONE should know that. It’s not new. If you capitalize on kissing your boyfriend and exposing your intimacy to the world - all the world is not pleasantly wishing you well so, there will be some negativity. Period. That’s the real world. You don’t like it, put down the camera and get a job. It’s that simple. Whining will only make the haters multiply.

I did not in anyway see or read that she was whining . She spoke what she wanted to get out and ended it with class. She works hard going to school and barely shills. They barely post things on IG anymore their just trying to have a real relationship outside this bubble batch . They both do a lot for charities and that is what they mostly post about. So to say I strongly disagree with your statement. JMO
