I have seen Lauren Zima is pushing a Derek as a potential option for next bachelor

Here’s my thoughts......
The whole Demi and her gf thing was totally pre planned.
Derek was in on it to couple up with her the first few episodes to sell the conflicted storyline.
In trade off he gets a broken hearted storyline and is guaranteed the next lead ......

I like Derek so Im ok with this

From RS' column today 

- Reunion is being filmed August 27th
- Confirmation that JPJ and Tayshia are back together. Sounds a lot like Joe/Kendall last year.
- He's heard from 5 different BN people who all think Dylan/Hannah are doomed. Not shocking IMO but it's funny that even the people who know them personally don't think they'll last.

@Hawaii Girl Thanks for bringing that info over! Yeah not surprised at all RS is hearing that about Dylan/Hannah.

Yeah, I am not surprised the other people think that about Dylan/Hannah. They are both so young.

I'm starting to think that the couples that end up breaking up during filming are the ones that are the most solid with a few exceptions. Last year Joe/Kendall and Kevin/Astrid... both going strong. Chris/Krystal were both older when they filmed the show and even before BIP last year, I thought they would be good together.

This year's cast are so young and flighty... especially some of the girls. JPJ and Tayshia just may end up being a strong couple because of leaving the show separately and getting to know each other outside the show bubble. Chris and Katie are both older so I think they know what they want and are willing to work for it.

I probably missed that somewhere along the line. Did they split after the show and got back together, or split on the show and are now back together? TYIA

Tayshia broke up with JPJ before the Fantasy Suites; so they split on the show and got back together, like Joe/Kendal and Kevin/Astrid.

I think some couples leave early because although they may be interested in each other, they may not be interested in the ring/engagement thing.
Both Astrid/Kevin and Kendall/Joe are happily coupled up a year later without yet being engaged.

This may be a possibility but didn't Venmo John and Olivia leave Paradise as a couple together, so it's not like you have to break up if you don't want to get engaged or even go to the fantasy suites.

Double standard alive a0nd well in BIP

John and Olivia took the overnight date but chose to leave the show without an engagement. They did see each other a few times post filming but were pretty much over with by the time the show finished airing. Annaliese and Kamil also took the overnight date but did not get engaged. Who can forget their breakup on the ATFR special!

In season 4, there were no engagements on the beach. 3 couples chose to take the overnight dates. All 3 left as dating couples. Adam/Raven, Derek/Taylor, Daniel/Lacey. Derek/Taylor did get engaged at the ATFR taping and Daniel/Lacey were no longer together.

I think they changed it several seasons ago (per RS season 4) that they do not have to get engaged at the end. They have several choices they can make before the fantasy suite dates:

They can leave separately.
They can leave as friends/couple.
They can stay in the fantasy suite.

After the fantasy suite they can choose to get engaged or not.
