Brooke, Sophie and Brittany never followed him, but Cass had been following him from before the show.

I am telling you... Nick took every single opportunity for $$$$
The Bachelor's Nick Cummins charges people $150 a head to have lunch with him at Goulburn Workers Club before fleeing the country for Papua New Guinea

To be honest the standard wedding package in Australia costs $150 per head for approx 5 hours. So to book a function for double the time would probably call for most of the costs to go to the workers club.

Errrr... food, open bar, live band, venue plus staff costs? I doubt Nick got paid all that much, if at all. All profits would have gone to the Rugby Club.

Nick has to earn a living somehow, and sportsmen's lunches and nights are commonplace here. They can charge anywhere between $1500 to $10,000 depending on their profile. I am fairly certain the club would have made a lot of money on the day though.

Money is money. Who knows how much he got? To associate his name now is gold for any business even if they lost or got nothing, their name is now known. Good investment and I doubt nick did it for free.

Regarding the speculation about Martine showing up at the end or something... even the 'getting back together with Cass' rumours, the back editing of the show would have retrospectively built the beginnings of this storyline into the narrative. We are 14 episodes in and there's been nothing at all.
They have built the narrative for Brooke's departure with a lot of forshadowing. We also have the 'reason' why Sophie will be F2. (flimsy at best since she's said more about her feelings than Brittany has according to the edit ) They have even manufactured an 'obstacle' for F1 to overcome out of almost nothing.
If there was something that big going to happen in the finale... there's no way they wouldn't have started to build towards it already. That would be ratings gold. I can't believe the producers would drop the ball that badly.
I think the 'heartstopping ending' is about Brooke leaving. They make sure to include 'the final 2 nights' in the ad. I think they are using Nick's little stressy moment with some clever editing to make sure everyone watches the finale.
Basically, the trick is to 'oversell' in the ads to get people to watch. There's no point in 'underselling' so people will be 'shocked' because the effect is that some people don't tune in... which is not the goal here.
The 'heartstopping ending' will not be as dramatic as the ads imply. So think smaller.
This is obviously all my opinion of course but based on an understanding of this stuff. :halo:

The radio hosts say when he came in for his interview when the show was about to air he seemed over it, but they also said that they asked him if he got the feeling when you meet someone you just get a feeling and he said that he could've wrapped up the show quickly.
IMO: He was probably just exhausted with all of the interviews he had to do.

I agree with this. I spent the first 6 episodes unspoiled and seeing if I could pick the edit... which is the thing I most enjoy about this show because I know a bit about... errr... something?
This season has been made a lot easier because of Nick's distinctive look and multiple sunburns.
To cut a long story short. It's easy to pick in the first half of the season that TPTB were only building 2 potential F1 storylines and it was obvious which one was being being back edited to make it seem stronger than it was. I have no doubt whatsoever that Nick knew early on who F1 would be.
In my opinion (and I stress I don't know this for sure) If Sophie was F1, the first 6 episodes would have been back edited in a much different way than they were. (I suspect they didn't get enough soundbites from Nick that would have made the 'Sophie as potential frontrunner' edit viable).
Brooke's edit had very definite parts that were brought forward from much later on in the series to make it seem like their first dates were 'more' than they were. You will notice that nearly all of what he said about Brooke was in the direct camera thingies. Most of what he says about Brittany is said either to her face, or on the day when they get pulled aside. His direct to camera thingies about Brittany have been toned down in contrast. Also, the narration about Brooke has obvious cuts... and they always add bits in that make what he said 'more'. If that makes sense? I'm not sure I'm explaining myself all that well.
That is the biggest 'tell' for me.
I don't think there was much they could do for the edit with Sophie so they have been just showing all the physical stuff and what Sophie says from her point of view. Nick is all "I really like Soph, she's a top chick" kinda stuff.
Disclaimer: I don't know any of this for sure, it's just an educated observation.

@thanks stoneleigh, appreciate your insight. First time I’m not confident with the F1 which is probably her edit and her post show activities.
