One of the topics discussed will be how they, having a devote Catholic and somewhat conservative background, support one of their children who is gay. I’m looking forward to hearing about this firsthand process and think many families can relate.

I had the weirdest dream last night.

I dreamt I met Nick and his family. His mom told me Nick was barely 5 feet tall! I was thinking, in my dream, wow, how tall were all his ex girlfriends? Because he looked taller than all of them.

Then I woke up. I remember Nick is listed in his bio he’s 6’2, 6’3.
What a strange dream!

My sister @olivia11_viall recently came out as gay and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I’m just as proud of the love and support that my family has shown her. In my episode of @viallfiles tomorrow, Olivia & my parents join me as we talk about the courage Olivia had to come out at such in a young age to a family that has always been traditional and conservative. No matter what, my family has always chosen love and I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this family. We have all grown together as a family over the years with our beliefs/acceptance of people and ideas we haven’t always understood. I’m particularly proud of my parents who taught us so much but were also willing to learn from their children as we introduced new ideas. We are always growing and always learning. Tomorrow we discuss our family, the importance of learning from one another, and the negative impact shame/guilt can play. I hope you join us.
