I admit to being surprised but I don't follow them so don't know if there were red flags. I can't say that I'm impressed by Bryan asking for spousal support.

Spousal support?  That's crazy.  I was not a fan of them both before, and I won't become one now.

I just posted about this on another thread…not sure why we have two for this couple.

Guessing this divorce will get a life of its own.

When I read this news, my first thought "Was Rachel blindsided". It seems so anti what her interviews in December indicated - they kept off social media to protect their relationship and they had an active plan for a family. They were off to Dallas to spend time with her family for the holidays.

I sure hope this doesn't get ugly. I can see why an attorney would suggest filing for spousal support - Bryan left his practice in FL to be with Rachel in CA. He lost some income for the relocation. But be an adult - he has a good opportunity to rebuild his career. I hope Rachel doesn't cave in - unless it is a sealed settlement and he can't say one word about it.

@Norcalgal that's my first thought. Bryan imho gave up his established practice to move.

I'm pretty sure he has had legal advice and documentation to support his filing for spousal support, if in fact that's true. He went back to normal life, Rachel not so much. There's nothing wrong with that. She has been given incredible opportunities but she said so herself, two different lives.

For me, I never got this relationship. I get keeping your life private, others have done it, but they were so public about everything else. They rarely seemed to spend time together. I have tried to update their banner for ages, but it was hard getting normal, candid photos of them. I have been thinking how do they keep their marriage together, when they rarely appeared together. I had been wondering how long before the break up, then she started talking about kids and I thought maybe I was wrong. I should know by now to stick to my first instincts.

I wonder who will hit the Bachelor Nation podcasts first? If Brian goes on Chris H's you know it will turn into a free for all.

i feel bad for rachel because she was just on nick's podcast in december saying how they were trying to conceive. she's too media savvy to do that if she knew divorce was imminent so i think bryan blindsided her imo

Re: Bryan asking for support. He chose to move his practice for their relationship but that doesn't mean that Rachel owes him money for doing it. It appears that he's taking advantage of her success, imo. I bet that Rachel wishes they'd done prenups.
