It almost seems like TPTB feel they need to "try out" potential new leads to see how they're received by the audience before they commit to a dedicated season.  This whole season feels like it's been Apollo's audition tape IMO, and the audience has been lapping him up.

I wonder also if they want to see if contestants will do as they're told.  Maybe previous Leads have gone rogue and they want to make sure they can rely on the person to play the game by their rules.  It's interesting.  But yes, I would like to see someone new too.

Not a good date between Apollo and Sophie

I have to agree. His edit has changed a lot imo in just this episode and not so much about how he is "mature" but rather maybe that he is not ready for a relationship and at his age of 24 that's really young for a lead imo especially one who is starting to make his career and releasing music and things. I think he'd get better offers than being a lead (where he'll likely end up hated) and be better off just pursuing his acting/singing/magician stuff and making a success off that

Nail in the coffin for him being next lead... TPTB wouldn't leave that in there if they wanted Apollo as lead. jmo

Do you think Sophie put an editing clause into her contract where she edits? That was maybe the most awkward F3 date maybe the most awkward date ever.

I am back to my original thought that this season TPTB cast the guys for BIP and not next lead

He's very sweet, and a lot more mature than his years, but IMO he's not strong enough to be the lead, it would be another Richie situation. Fresh blood thanks TPTB!

He certainly was not trying to get the bachelor gig from his behaviour on that date. IMO you have to respect that.
