I personally don't think AFTR will be messy at all.  Rachel will be with her man, Bryan on cloud 9.  I think she is riding a high right now and nothing will steal her joy.  Jmho

@FashionLover JMO, the whole process is emotionally exhausting and Rachel with her analytical mind was probably trying to keep open to all possibilities. She was in love with Bryan, but she and Peter had a great first date, he gave a sandwich to a homeless guy, her family liked him, so maybe she still was on the fence a little. And every time she moved on and was happy he tried to pull her back in. I think after HTDs she had decided to be happy with her feelings for Bryan, then Pete pulls falling in love, but won't budge on the engagement or even comfort her when she is upset. He kept trying to pull her back in, IMO, he is the player and he is the guy who is emotionally manipulative. Plus I am sure TPTB was chirpping in her ear about how great Peter was and maybe Bryan wasn't for real. All JMO.

I think she put her "relationship" with Peter in the past already.

The only way I can see her becoming unglued is if Peter makes some kind of attack on Bryan. Which I don't think he's stupid enough to do so .

Ok. Lets play a little game and put ourselves in peters shoes (I know, I know.. some of y'all think he's the devil incarnate but play along for a minute.)
1. Peter reads rachel well and see's she's likely to pick Bryan
2. Peter states clearly where he stands about the ending on this. Not proposing
3. Peter is still kept around even though he is clear that he's not proposing. Maybe it's rachel not ready to send him home or maybe it's TPTB exerting power moves
4. Peter likely keeps sensing rachel is STILL on bryan as her ending.

what is peter supposed to do? Act a fool and fall in love with someone who's just gonna dump him at he end? or play along until TPTB/rachel are ready to let him go?

What is Rachel being petty about?

I don't think Rachel is going to let Peter get away with his SM games. I'm fully expecting something from her to put him in his place. JMHO but I don't think she's going to let that slide after all this time of not saying anything. Then she'll move on.

IMO she probably doesn't care about the Peter fans, I don't see any reason why she would care, I wouldn't. Some of them are going to hate her anyway for not choosing someone who didn't want her to begin with IMHO.

Rachel hasn't not petty at all, she's been full of happiness and class. JMO

@FashionLover If all you say is true, then Peter could have left. Unless, he wanted the lead. Graham wasn't into DeAnna, after his HTD he wanted to leave. They made him go through the farce of a RC, but he left. Frank was done before FD, so he left, he didn't want to be the bachelor, so he left and they couldn't stop him. Bentley was over pretending and he left, Constantine didn't want to do the FS with Ashley and he left. Brooks didn't want to be with Des, so he left. All four of these guys managed to get out because they were willing to get out without staying tied to TPTB.

Peter could have left if he wasn't into her. Maybe it is my bias, but Peter has treated Rachel like she should be pursuing him. His falling in love before MTP had all the sincerity of reciting a grocery list. But he wanted to make sure he got farther.

Rachel has much less say, as the lead she has a much more air tight contract than a contestant, so she doesn't have the freedom that a contestant has.

This is JMO.

Peter had the first 1:1 with Rachel. He wouldn't have known she was going to chose Bryan at that point. During that 1:1 it was so obvious to me he was not into her. I must have posted that several times over and over. Followed by several hate pm's. So I wouldn't say Peter saw the attraction and backed off. If you're feeling it, you're going to go for it, and even if you're not, you're going to act like you do. He pretty much ran the show in  a controlling manner if you ask me. He basically laid down the rules to Rachel in the smug way he has been all season IMO.

Peter IMO was TPTB's pick for F2. They knew he would be a fan favourite, they knew he wanted to be on the show. What they didn't know was he can't act. I bet that storyboard changed from heartbreak to won't propose.

Peter should have left like Brooks did, Graham wanted to leave as well, they accommodated him. He wasn't into her, he knew he was not going to be the F1 IMO. I don't buy what was he suppose to do, fall in love with someone he didn't want to fall in love with. No he wasn't, neither was any other contestant. He should have left rather than faking his way through, and I say fake because he just left Rachel hanging by a thread with his BS every time he opened his mouth. I'm sure the best fake-fest is yet to come

@GuardianAngel Yes, we still get his crying audition for the bachelor on his hotel room floor. So the fake-fest is going to get much worse. I am so over him, I will probably laugh at his bad acting or be mad at his emotionally manipulative ways. JMO.

My stance with bachnation is that contestants should always go in strategically and not for love only cause that's stupido IMO. So if peter go to the point where he realized Rachel's mind was made up and decided to play the game, I wouldn't blame him. This benefits both him, AND rachel/franchise because if everyone where to leave as soon as they realized it's a lost cause, we would never have a show. If rachel's mind was already made up at week 5/6, then by all means I think remaining contestants reserve the right to switch to strategic mode and make the best out of the three months they took off their life. No reason for that to go down the drain. Do we honestly believe eric thought he stood a chance? or did he also do the math
