catrice1216Lee was not the only issue. It was strongly implied that Black men prefer white women, Black women would want a non black man when given a choice, and that black men are loud talking, bragging individuals (with whistles!) that cannot hold their temper. So.....unless they are calling out the producers on how SEVERAL things were edited (including Bryan being a stereotypical "latin lover,") I am going to be disappointed. They threw everything in there except the kitchen sink- and also cast men they KNEW Rachel would not be interested in for drama...i.e. Blake and Waboom. The sabotage this season was real. The relationships between the minority men were not showcased. Rachel can choose who she wants and I have no issue with that, but what I do have an issue with is how the relationships were shown, including Josiah's edit. I understand these people don't want to harm their chances for other opportunities in the franchise, but sometimes you have to take a stand and speak out. The exploitation of Dean's family was the last straw.

Instead of taking advantage of a beautiful WOC bachelorette and promoting, love for all, everyone deserves to find love, we are all humans that need empathy and love, they focus on issues that only bring out the worst in people IMHO.

Thanks for the post GA. I loved the black men on Rachel's season and feel everyone of them has such character. We only got to see Eric in any depth but wish the bromances could be shown as we'd see some pretty stellar stuff. Kudos to any woman who looks below the surface of any of these guys and sees the beauty inside.

The TPTB are the scum of the earth...IMO.

The racist trash they produced on bip last season has been so far the nastiest reality show sl I've seen, so making racist mockery out of Rachel's season is no surprise. Casting Lee was so out of order, but TPBP have no shame, no moral compass. Jmo

I completely agree with these insights.

Rachel is an accomplished woman who deserves better than having her cast of men reduced to two-dimensional charicatures.

The discussions about her F3 are reduced to:
Bryan= too smooth
Eric= too inexperienced/ never been in love
Peter= too stiff/ not affectionate/ not ready to propose.

This is a pessimistic way to celebrate the new couple. Remember how over-the-moon excited Rachel was about her fiance after filming ended? How she still seems to be? How she hopes that we would share in her excitement and love him, too?

That's the best possible relationship scenario, for anybody. I wish that TPTB embraced that and not their clichéd characters IMO.

I also have to join in and say that I agree with the insights expressed here. I was really quite appalled with the whole Lee drama. I think it played on the worst stereotypes regarding race. It was about as subtle as a sledge hammer! I remember being so frustrated that the other guys were being ignored to focus on the problems with Kenny and Lee. I wanted to see more of the friendships between the black guys. They seemed to get along very well. I wanted to see more about some of the guys. I can't say that I am surprised that TPTB went there. It's a shame, but they have not shown class or taste so many times in the past.

I was disgusted with the blatant exploitation of Dean's family. They have been through so much. It's clear that the death of his mother tore the family apart. They have not been able to come together in the years since. I felt very uncomfortable watching Dean and his father. I felt like I was prying. Someone said on another site that nothing is private when it comes to this show. Maybe that's how TPTB feel, but I don't see it that way. There are things that should be left private. They spent a lot more time with Dean's hometown and I thought Peter's hometown passed by in a flash. Not enough drama.

I do think that Rachel's cast of men were reduced to two-dimensional caricatures. It was cartoonish at times.
