I look at this way, using IG as a scale because there is no way to know how many people read a rag mag article,
if a pic gets 50,000 likes and 10 trolls comment then the troll population equals 0.0002. 
Statistically, 49,990 people are typical IG users who tap "like" when they do like it while others just move on to the next pic in their IG feed - normal IG user behavior. Trolls are %-wise occupiers of a very small space, numerically insignificant. 0.0002 is 0.02% of show fans/people they know visiting their SM. 
That's why I find them so easy to ignore. Less than 1% are negative noisy, like that random child having a tantrum in the supermarket, noticeable but... :babies: . IMO it's lovely that most children know how to behave in public.
