Dr. Bryan Abasolo - Bachelorette 13 - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - #3

Imo we are so used to see the same old 'I'm scared to open up, to take the leap and allow myself to fall for this person' sl, that when someone like Bryan, why has no hang ups, isn't afraid to fall in love and put himself out there, and express his current feelings from early on, comes along, it takes us off guard. It took Rachel off guard. It has many of us wondering if it's for real. To me it's refreshing, to see an adult man not be scared or guarded, but to go full steam ahead, and pour Rachel with adoration. Imo the 'I'm scared and wounded, I don't want to get hurt, so I'm holding myself back' sl are starting to feel like the safer options and lines from these contestants, tbh. Jmo

@Cocoasneeze I totally agree. If they play the scared-to-be-open card, at least when they are rejected by the Bachelor/ Bachelorette, they can parlay it into it didn't work out because I was too guarded. Whereas for someone like Bryan, who is so forthcoming with his feelings, if he is rejected, it is even going to be more humiliating for him. He has already put everything out there. If he wants to be the next lead, he is doing it all wrong! And if we are going with the assumption that he is a student of this show, he should know better which path leads to the next lead. :wink:

Bryan just posted his first  IG story and there's no way he did it by himself. Rachel must have shown him

That new IG pic of him is the best he's looked, probably because he doesn't look like himself to me.

Anyway, I also think his lines and sales tactics go beyond regular Bachelor speak. Yes, they all use certain words and phrases, but usually by week 6, the frontrunners have been shown having some kind of a normal conversation. I'm still waiting for that with Bryan. The "I felt ugly" "I felt ugly too!" conversation was probably the closest, but you could call that mirroring as well. I'm still waiting to see who he is beyond the cheesy lines and aggressive kissing. Four more dates to go, so there's still time, but so far I can't get a sense of who he is at all. And I'm really not saying he's faking his feelings or has some ulterior motive. Like others have said, I just feel like he's doing everyone including himself a disservice by hiding behind the cheese. It's not necessary. If Rachel is the one for him, she'll fall for him without any pick up lines, and we've already seen them be a hindrance since Rachel herself keeps wondering if she's being played. Bryan could easily convince her just by showing up as a real person. If the cheesy "romantic" lines are the real him and that's all there is to him, then he's the most boring contestant ever to have made it to F1 IMHO.

That is not a good clue though, IMO. Rachel should have put some food on that chest. Like a hotdog or something. Mustard. Kraut or chili. How about a food fight photo Rachel. A sense of humor photo for the holiday!

I'm going to need an adjustment looking at that.
