If these allegations are against Demario, how on earth can she possibly "cool" and on "good terms" with her supposed sexual assaulter? That doesn't make sense to me. If these allegations are against production, saying things like "I did not consent" and "I am a victim" is extremely damaging to Demario's life IMO. She needs to be careful with her words and say more things like "Demario and I are victims." If she really is claiming allegations against productions, she sounds really selfish with her words IMO. It sounds like she is completely disregarding Demario (saying words that already HAVE damaged his image) even though he also was supposedly drunk.
I don't think she even knows how she's going to pursue legal action/justice yet, hence the ambiguity. I agree with you though that the way she's wording things like she's a victim is painting DeMario as the aggressor and the one who did harm to her. I think her attorney is keeping it murky on purpose, and it's very selfish with no regard to the harm that DeMario is suffering if he did nothing wrong (with what has come out so far seems to be the case).

Marty Singer is just doing PR lawyer spin IMO. WB shut down production because the filing of the complaint by Shelby and the written allegations would have to be treated seriously and thoroughly investigated from a legal standpoint by WB....to show that they took the situation seriously. IMO
I doubt that WB will settle if they have proof to back up their contractural rights. If Corinne changed her story after the fact and witnesses prove that.....IMO Corinne could have action taken against her for false allegations. WB has a right to protect it's legal position and rights IMO.
Nobody forces these contestants to come on this show. They willing sign the contracts for $$$ and more importantly Fame. IMO Some of the contestants are determined to act outrageously on camera so that they stand out and then try to profit from their outlandish behavior post show IMO.

Exactly! I find it ridiculous to blame production. They are not supposed to be babysitters.
Michael G was on the Here to Make Friends from HuffPost podcast this week and he stated plain and clear that they are being filmed 24/7. Nobody is putting a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to drink. No producers make them do anything...they may make suggestions but not force it. And, in MIchael's opinion, Corinne and Demario probably both said at the start of production that they were open to connecting on show.
Where is Corinne's parents in all of this? They presumably watched their daughter lead with her sexuality in a very big way throughout Nick's season and SEEM to be drunk most of the time. If she actually has a drinking problem, her parents should be paying for 3 weeks of treatment at a substance abuse facility ... not standing by while she takes the Corinne show to BIP where the ENTIRE PREMISE of the show is hooking up and partying.

^^ exactly. Can't think of all of them, but a few past contestants have come out after this saying basically that alcohol is available and they are not forced to drink or even pressured to drink. They are filmed 24/7, so the proof should be on tape. Tenley was one who said that, and can't remember the others. I think it was in one of the People or US articles.

I think TPTB are responsible in some way, as are Corinne and DeMario IMO. Just because the contestants sign contacts, does not mean TPTB can't be held liable to some degree IMO.

'Bachelor in Paradise' Contract Says Producers Not Responsible for Corinne Olympios, DeMario Jackson's Sexual Encounter'
Now that Corinne Olympios appears headed for a legal showdown with producers of "Bachelor in Paradise" ... the contract she signed becomes extrememly relevant, and problematic.
The contract contestants sign, obtained by TMZ, says in part all contestants waive their right to sue producers over claims of "negligence, personal injury (including without limitation, any injuries arising out of the transmission of a sexually transmitted disease or unwelcome/unlawful contact or other interaction among participants)." The short of it ... even if she was in a blackout state when she was engaged in sexual activity with DeMario Jackson, the producers would not be responsible. There's a catch ... courts have made it clear in situations involving similar contracts, if the producers were reckless that clause would not be enforceable. And it would seem watching someone incapable of giving consent to sexual activity and allowing it to happen ... is reckless. And still another catch ... as we reported, people who have seen the video tell us Corinne seems lucid and engaged during the entire swimming pool episode.

Honestly, I think it's disgusting that the cameras continued rolling and they even allowed this to go on at all. Obviously they wouldn't be airing it. Why in the world would they film it or let them do that out in the open, they literally should have stopped it right away, told C/D to go to a room, that this kind of behavior is prohibited on camera. Whoever sat around and watched and filmed it is disgusting. They're all gross.

havadrpepper wrote:All these mentions of C getting her own show have been nagging at me. I seem to remember reading something several months ago that she was in talks to get her own show. So I went searching. Took looking through a few google search pages to find it, but I did. Not sure about the source but my point is that this rumor has been out there for awhile. Article dated Feb 2, 2017 before she was even off TB in the TV airing of Nick's season.
Corinne Show Rumor
So now I'm thinking... was appearing on BIP a requirement for this to possibly happen?
All JMHO
IMO It was not a guarantee she was going to get her own show, but certainly not doing BIP was not going to assist that either, but rather put an end to the possibility. IMO

Re: Bachelor In Paradise - Season 4 - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - 2
I think I'm confused. Is the complaint from Corrine or her producer friend that TPTB should have stopped her from drinking? Is that the charge? Or is it that they should have stopped an alleged sexual assault from happening instead of filming it? I've been thinking that it was the later, but seems from this debate it might be the former?
I don't think they are liable for her drinking or should have stepped in to cut her off. She's an adult, it's a relatively controlled environment, she has responsibility to regulate her own behavior and drinking.
But if, and that's a BIG IF, the first version of the DM story turns out to be the truth - that Corrine was passing out and limp in the water, needed to be held above the water for him to continue, then he put her on the side of the pool and went down on her while she was basically passed out - then I absolutely think that TPTB had an obligation to step in to stop that from happening. Just like if she got wasted, blacked out, and he tried to stab her with a steak knife in her platinum vagine I would expect them to stop that kind of violence from happening. JMO.
If the truth is somewhere in the grey area - Corrine appeared lucid and engaged (but maybe was actually black out drunk), encouraging, etc - then I'm not sure how much responsibility lies with TPTB to step in. I guess it depends on how it actually played out on tape, but Demaurio and Corrine bear some responsibility.
All just my opinion...

And because I'm curious, and it's been reported over and over that Shelby didn't witness any of this, where was she? And I don't mean bathroom break. This behavior started in the afternoon and extended into the night. Where was this best friend, production person and handler all this time? Wasn't it her job to be keeping tabs on Corinne? Corinne went from DeMario to 3 other men in the course of 6-8 hrs max. Talk about fast food.
@sweeti810 thanks for posting the contract excerpt. I suspected as much.

I'm not an attorney but would appreciate our legal experts weighing in here. The contracts the contestants sign IMO give up many of their rights. Could C and M win a lawsuit for "unlawful" or inappropriate contract language and thereby receive some type of settlement? I think more informed consent as to what the contestants are signing away would be a good thing.

I'm not weighing in as an expert.
A sticking point IMO is that everyone signed up on BIP is on their 2nd contract (or more). They have already experienced "edit" as well as in C's case watched the last season she was on and seen how others were edited vs what happened while filming. C would have had opportunity to be better informed than when she signed to go on Bach. IMO the onus would be on her, and others, to not sign if the conditions of the contract were not personally agreeable.
