I won't cast judgment on his brother when it is Jordan who is the one airing family laundry and I don't blame Aaron at all for not wanting anything to do with someone like that. From personal experience when someone estranges themselves they have very good cause to do so. Family is not everything. Family isn't "owed" anything. This type of thinking imo is what perpetuates toxicity and dysfunction and imo there was likely this from a long time ago and the best thing at times is to move on and that is what I see Aaron having done. Jordan trying to shame his brother is on him and whatever his reasons, Aaron has every right to live his life and he has done so. Jordan needs to move on and realize that no one is owed anything rather than trying to shame his brother and make him look bad when it makes Jordan look bad imo.

Per news reports on 11/8, residents in southern Chico were ordered to evacuate when the fire was 2 miles from the city limits. Many may be unaware that 700 acres burned in Chico on 7/13/18 as part of the Stoney Fire. Jordan's mom was smart to prepare again for evacuation a mere three months later. IMO.

I agree there are many sides to every story of family estrangements. How very sad that one member of the Rodgers family is estranged from every other member and from childhood friends. Great wealth, superior talent and the associated privileges that come with fame make conventionally unacceptable behavior "understandable" to many, IMO.

I totally agree family is not everything.
It’s important, IMO, to cherish and embrace the good and distance yourself from what’s not good, in order not to make yourself sick, guilty, angry whatever.
Life is too short and no one is perfect. What I do believe is those that want to be in your life, positively, will continue to be and those that don’t want that, so be it. Less angina.

Until one has gone through this it is easy to cast blame on the one who has moved on. Imo, one does that for their own well-being and it's no different from toxic relationships, sometimes it's the only thing to have health and well-being is to move on. 

Trying to publicly shame, blame someone else is part of that toxicity imo and that's what I see with Jordan. Moving on is the best thing Aaron did imo and for Jordan's sake too he needs to move on too. Therapy would serve Jordan better than using Twitter and him moving on. jmo

Depends on where one lives in Chico if it affected them. My family lives on the opposite side of Chico from that area, and they weren't close to even being asked to voluntarily evacuate. It depends on where the family lives. But I don't want to diminish what their mother went through.

It doesn't even matter who's right and who's wrong at this point. It's pathetic imo. Both sides probably think they're right, but I've never heard of right-ness comforting and wiping away regrets should tragedy strike. & imo family is everything.

I strongly disagree that family is everything. Families can be abusive, toxic. Mentally, psychologically and emotionally controlling, manipulative, and detrimental to one's well-being, mental health, and more. Moving on is sometimes the best thing to do and to do with no regret. Staying in that toxicity is where the regret lies imo. Moving on is one of the healthiest things one can do imo from any toxic relationship, especially biological ones which are sometimes and oftentimes the worst of all.

@AllAboutLove Thank you for saying this. I have an abusive and toxic family and they will never be everything to me.

The family you choose to interact with/love/etc. is everything. Sharing DNA doesn’t give you the right to love or be someone’s family. JMO

We don’t know the circumstances of the strain between them, so I can’t comment on abusive and toxic behavior and how it was utterly necessary that Aaron got out. Per reports, Aaron not only cut off his parents and brothers, but also his grandparents, childhood friends, etc.

@bluwavz I so agree. Not everything in life is fixable or wants to be. The important thing is realizing it and moving past it for a better you.
