I loved the podcast, too! I especially loved how he defended Jordan when it applied and got his digs in at RS character. Hell that alone was worth the listen!! If his response wasn't necessarily glowing about others...after following SM ,they earned it, IMO. Good stuffl I think Juliet has come to have alot of respect for Nick.

I liked the podcast a lot, nice to hear some of the back story of these 'scandalous' pictures and stories that get published. Nick is a smart guy, and I always appreciate his inside info and perspective re the shows. I also like to hear that little shade he throws around.

And him so openly saying, that Vanessa is a confident woman, not much bothers her, re him talking about his season was Imo the cherry on the top.

My friends and many people I know, are gone end of October beginning of Nov until mid April late April - and they do this every year. Jan - April Nov to Dec - they are in the US. and they always calculate for the calendar year.

Under the Substantial Presence Test, the IRS considers Canadians to be U.S. residents for tax purposes if you are physically present in the U.S. for:

31 days in the current calendar year; AND
183 days during the three-year period covering the current calendar year and the two preceding calendar years on a weighted basis. To arrive at your three-year total, you include:
All days spend in the U.S. in the current calendar year,
One-third of the days spend in the U.S. in the preceding year, and
One- sixth of the days spent in the U.S. in the year prior to that
While the test is odd and confusing, it actually allows you spend significantly more than 183 days in the U.S. over the three-year period by giving less weight to days in previous years.

If your total over the three-year period is 182 days or less, you will not be considered a U.S. resident for tax purposes, as you don’t meet the Substantial Presence Test.
Canadian snowbirds who spend 183 days or more in the U.S. in the current calendar year have one last kick at the can to avoid being declared a U.S. resident for tax purposes – File a U.S. Nonresident tax return (Form 1040NR) and claim an exemption under The Canada – U.S. Tax Treaty.

GA this is for tax purposes, which the IRS has spelled out pretty extensively, if you are resident (for any reason even vacations) in the USA for 181 days or more in a year, then you will be liable for taxes as a non-resident.

Here's the website from the IRS. I worked in taxation for many years and we had quite a few NR from other countries. When we filed taxes for our ex-pats, we had a calendar they completed that showed exactly the number of days they were in the US.

The USCIS website is very vague, but I found this for visitors it shows an image of either an imaginary person or real (who knows) and when she entered the US and when her entrance visa expires, it shows very clearly that she entered the US on 4/11/12 and her date of departure in 10/10/12.

You can apply to have this extended by filing this form, I-539, Application To Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status.

I mentioned some time ago my friend entered the US in the 1990's on a visitor visa (nonimmgrant visa) and her date of departure on the current visitor visa was about two weeks later, because she didn't have a return ticket, she was refused entry (had to fly back to the UK) and her now husband had to apply for a fiancee visa for her.

Finally someone gave him a platform to discuss RS. I really had no idea that RS was in contact Chris Viall. Clearly then RS knew well in advance (the release was before the show aired) that the plane vid call was to Nick's parents yet he kept that from the public which IMO was an intentional omission calculated to encourage public bias. I'm glad Nick made that public.  If nothing else, he spoke out on behalf of Chris who has no public voice.
Nick's sense of privacy, in things that he wants kept close, really resonated.  He has always preferred not to give much detail about his work and not naming his partners shows the depth to which his sense of privacy runs. Also the fact he shared about he and Vanessa deciding to not talk on planes because they don't want conversations overheard then warped in tabloids just reinforces how much he/they work toward maintaining a consistent measure of distance from the spotlight with regard to their relationship.  The opposite of trying to stay relevant in the news cycle.  It's a basic "show is over" approach IMO.
I too had been curious about who was in his circle of friends from Bach alumni. That circle is remarkably small for Bach nation but not surprising.  He's never been like the majority and his using the term "outlier" is fitting.  Again, not surprising he said he was "quiet" at Evan&Carly's wedding. All those cameras waiting for edit footage. Smart man.
I always enjoy his talk about production and find him most at ease when talking about technical aspects. He appears to have a curiousity and passion for how things work that is engaging in the retelling.

Loved the interview. I've always preferred the Bachette and Reid, Nick, and Jordan are my favorite contestants. Nick seems so happy and in a good place. Glad Vanessa was on the show for him, because from the sound of it, he was not into anyone else.

Vanessa is doing a Live IG video. Some things she said:

- V talking about the No Better You (NBY) event and what it will entail during the day
- V said that she and Nick will be answering questions together and a more intimate setting (so not as many people) and any questions at all about Nick and V they will be answering and excited to both be there
- Vanessa said that things got really busy with planning for her event and Nick is in LA currently for his work and getting things done there since if he came with he wouldn't be seeing her much so thought both get things done at the same time
- V said unfortunately they won't be able to attend Peta's wedding due to these other commitments that came up and didn't have the ability to go but love Peta and Maks so much and wishing them so much happiness
- Vanessa once again said you should not believe tabloids or what you read on the internet
- So cute how Vanessa calls Nick "my man" when she is talking about Nick
