Ben Higgins Previews ‘The Bachelor Winter Games’: I Took ‘Huge Steps’ in the Romance Department

While the series focuses on competition, it is still The Bachelor franchise, so romance was expected in the house. “I made a lot of good relationships from when I stepped into the house to the time I left. If you ask me, ‘Did I take steps in the romance department?’ I definitely did. There’s not a question in my mind that there were steps made,” Higgins, 29, said. “I may or may not have [found love]. For me, personally, there was huge steps made. I’m excited for people to be with me in that story, through television.”

Hasn't he been dating someone for a while? Then how can he make steps in the romance department? She should be dumping his a**.

@Sprite yes he has.  She's spent time with his family and all, but he keeps pretty quite about it for the most part.  I'm with you, she ought to kick him to the curb.

Supposedly he has some kind of melt down/temper tantrum and leaves.  They better show that! The thought of seeing Benji loose his cool and not be Mr. Perfect, is one reason I'm thinking of watching this mess.

The best part of the whole quote is this:

I’m excited for people to be with me in that story, through television

Being on tv seems to be his happy place.

He's making is sound like he's trying to move on after his horrible split which he just can't seem to recover from.

I think Ben represents the kind of person that hasn’t learned how to move forward after a breakup. Remembering on Kaitlyn’s season when he briefly mentioned his past relationship. It was the only time IMO he showed any raw emotion and seemed unable to say much. I don’t even think it was about that past girlfriend as much as about his inability to leave past hurt in the past. IMO it is a flaw that some people have, and if they don’t purge it then they often project traits of a previous love or a previous relationship on to a new person/relationship as if they are red flags instead of just relaxing and getting to know someone who is their own self. People like that risk being self-assigned martyrs.

Of course his WG scenes, there are hints about some emotional outpouring, will either end up making me even more confused about who he is/what he wants or might end up being insightful.
I’ve always been neutral on Ben. Have never found him very interesting.

@Mommyof2 I actually think Jake admitted to being a tv wannabe. Ben still claims to want his normal life.
