I guess the fact that I still have the picture of Drew as my avatar, tells you how long it's been! He was a real favorite of mine!

Family dynamics can be so difficult to fix. I know I had a difficult relationship with my mom and finally just decided to ignore the past and live in the present with her. I'm hoping that Dean and his family have some sort of closure from all the hurt.

Thanks for the welcome! Nice to see you, too!

I know about family issues. I didn't lose a parent at a young age like Dean, but there were issues. Things too personal to discuss here. However, I did feel for him and his family as I watched the hometown date. For myself, I worked very hard through my adult life to get to a place where I could accept my mother for who she was, the good and the bad. It was not an easy journey at all! I think Dean needs to make that same journey. I was determined not to be a victim and blame whatever happened in my life on my mother. I got to a place of acceptance and peace. But in my case, I was heard. I also got an apology and an admission that she was wrong from my mother. That was a huge breakthrough. It came over twenty years later, but it was very important for me. I was fortunate.

I am grateful that now that both my parents have passed on, that I can remember them with fondness and appreciate the wisdom and good advice I got from them. I see their good qualities and have come to terms with the bad ones. It helped me a lot to come to terms with the past.

For Dean, I am not sure if he and his father will get there. I realize that his father may have reacted so angrily in part because of the tv cameras. I don't know that he was prepared to have his private family issues publicly discussed with millions watching. But I was concerned that he got mad at Dean and then walked out. The worst feeling is not being heard. His father did tell him that he loved him and Dean said the same. But I think they need to talk privately and really listen to each other. They both need to come to a certain place of acceptance of each other and what happened in the past. It's not easy.

I know there are others who don't like Dean, but I had a good impression of him on Rachel's season. I will see what happened on BIP and then decide how I feel about him. On the face of it, I don't think it sounds good. But I am really wondering why both of these young women would be willing to continue seeing him. Why wouldn't one or the other or both just opt out? I don't think love triangles ever end well, if that's what it was.

We all know that tptb will swoop down to any lengths to get drama for their show
On Des' season they implied that more than one of the cast was gay, how could we all forget that?

love how my friend @deanie_babies handled himself during his tough hometown date. I admire how he was able to articulate his feelings so well during a time of such high emotion and anxiety and still be so full of love and vulnerabilty. You're a good one, kid.

He's like the squad trashing the lead for not choosing their friend.

He didn't do much for me, but boy, he's showing his true colours. I think he's just as messed up as his brother who didn't want a younger brother.

Unbelievable how stupid can this girl be they deserve each other .
