Again, DWTS is like 2 months tops and that is only if you make it all the way to the finale. For all we know Nick could be 1st or 2nd eliminated (I hope not for my own selfish reasons) but if so then that is only like 3 weeks. If he becomes a dark horse and goes further even makes the final then 9 weeks tops. To read some reactions you would think DWTS lasts a year or something. Even without DWTS who is to say V wouldn't have taken a leave to spend some constant quality time with her new fiance?

Just curious as I've not seen every season. Has any F1 ever worn a black dress? None have that I've seen but it appears Vanessa's is black?

When the F1 accepts an engagement, id hope she'd want to spend the time immediately following the finale with her fiance in public. If the guy i just got engaged to was going on DWTS ...theres not a chnace in he!l that Id give up the opportunity to go meet the cast and all the stars and the celebs that go watch! Are you kidding me....I'd be there with bells on week after week ... Vanessa would be nuts to stay in Montreal and work IMO

I agree - who cares. Nick's responsibility to put on a show and entertain fans of the Bachelor franchise will end as of tonight.
Next he will have the opportunity to earn money to line their nest. DWTS is a potentially big money maker over a very short period of time. AND it allows fans to make their vote count as opposed to Bach fantasy league which really is a fantasy if "voters" think their vote for who stays or who goes/their personal favorite counts .

Hope he gets to stay on the show for awhile. Guess we'll see how many cross over with him.

Courtney did on Ben F's season.  It was in Switzerland, so another cold climate.

I find it fascinating how differently people respond to contestants on this show that do the same exact things
i.e. quitting stable jobs to capitalize on short term fame and money or shilling
imho how viewers feel about a specific contestant plays a big role in how the contestant's actions are interpreted. Some people get more flack than others because they chose the shilling route based on how popular they are while other's actions are rationalized. I have at this point accepted the fact that anyone that goes on this show is going to be shilling and chasing some form of fame or capitalizing on attention the show has gotten so big that it's become the "normal" thing that people do - I don't personally think it's always a good thing for them cos I do think fame and attention isn't conducive to a healthy inner life but it's their choice.

I'm actually only recording the ep to watch this part.     As our last gorgeous, awesome (IMO) Ette said "Bring on the men".  I can't wait to get back into the show as we move into the pre-season stuff for Rachel.  Looking forward to it.

I expect all of them to do a certain amount of "financially advocating". Unless they are financially well off to begin with and can take a screw you attitude.

Except, unless I've missed it because I only just came on today, we don't know that Vanessa is leaving her job permanently to capitalize on fame and shilling. All we know is that she is going to come to LA to be with her fiance while he is competing on DWTS, which is really not that strange. I would also point out that Nick himself doesn't really shill on social media.

I see so much conversation about shilling like it's a given for every single person and I follow Nick on three social media channels and have for awhile now and I can say that in that time I think he posted one thing about a code for a gym, which turned out to be a favor for someone who had also competed on the show and is a personal trainer.

IMO There was no 'winning' for Vanessa the moment she fell for Nick and got engaged. If she chose to remain in Canada, it would be 'She's so selfish. What was she thinking coming on an American show?'. Now, that she is moving here for the immediate future, it's 'She is chasing fame with Nick and her love for family/job was all for show'. Damned if she does, damned if she doesn't.
