Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #7

I just feel badly for her. More than anyone, I just feel like she is scrutinized to the extreme - to a damned if you do, damned if you don't level.  My advice to her would be exactly what it appears she is currently doing: "You do you, boo!" Post what you wanna post, rock whatever pics you wanna post, turn off the comments and DGAF what anyone else has to say.

Except this boo obviously cares deeply, deeply about what we all think imo So tough her life imo.

ETA: if posts had sound tracks, I wish I could assign, "How could you be so heartless," to mine Thanks Kanye!

She does seem to get it worse than most, huh? I'm not sure why either. She doesn't do anything differently than any of the other Bach girls that I've seen either. I don't follow any of them closely though. I like the girl. I feel for her. I hope she comes out of this stronger and if she and Ben are meant to be then I hope she gets her babies and that puppy she's been wanting. Get her a puppy for crying out loud, Ben! The girl deserves a puppy!

Does Lauren really get more criticism than most? Or is she just more sensitive? I've never really looked at her comments before today but it seems generally ok. Mostly positive comments. And if anyone says anything even remotely negative, her fans are rabid. On one of her pics someone simply asked if her and ben were still together and got attacked.

Idk. I just know she gets negative comments on her weight and now fake she is. I don't know if it's any more than what others get because, like I said, I don't follow anyone else other than Vanessa. And because she's the new girl she's getting both good and bad comments. If you think about it though, don't they all? Get both? Like Nick said in a recent interview, the negative comments always seem more loud. Lauren does seem sensative but I can't blame her. Shoot. I couldn't handle being in the spot light at all! I'd be a wreck! Lol

I think she gets it worse than most judging by quick, unscientific  scan of the others. I don't even think they have rabid fans anymore. I think a lot of the excitement and loveliness of following them has been diminished considerably by HEA, the cancelled wedding, and frankly their detractors that don't let up.

I'm not the best person to answer this because I follow like 10 Bachelor peeps but I'm not convinced she gets more. I think we just hear about the negative comments she gets more if that makes sense. JMO

IMO it does if you base your self worth based on what people on the internet think about you. I'm not defending these trolls who say horrible things but I also don't get how these people let it affect them so much. I had a blog on Tumblr a few years ago that was super popular, I had 64k followers and on the occasions that I posted a selfie, I would get the same kind of comments about my weight that Lauren gets (I'm also very thin). Accusing me of anorexia and bulimia. If I posted something that people disagreed with, there  would be hundreds of messages in my inbox on anonymous telling me to k*ll myself. It was annoying because my inbox would be clogged and I couldn't see messages from people I was actually friends with, that's the extent of the effect on me negatively. Lauren & some of the others in bachnation put too much stock into SM and like to pretend they don't. They want to be all "I do what I want, idc, f*ck the hatahs" on one hand, and on the other cry about mean comments and they can't have it both ways. I feel bad for kids who are cyberbulled, because they're not old enough to understand that this sh*t doesn't really matter. When it comes to adults? I'd like them to get a f*cking grip. I'm just over the incessant whining. All JMO.

I hear ya! I'm tired of the whining from adults but I also get it because I can see how it has it to hurt. But and that's a very BIG BUT if you don't want those hateful comments, maybe, just maybe, think of what you're putting out there. I know that people are going to hate on absolutely everything down to the color of nail polish you choose to wear but some things can be avoided. JMO But you can't please everyone...ever so there's no use in trying. You just can't.

I think it seems like she gets a lot of criticism because she's never really quiet about it. Sometimes she'll answer back or one of her friends will hit back up a troll for her and now she even disabled the comments. I think she makes it known that it affects her. IMO, the best thing to do is to actually ignore the trolls. If the trolls see that they can easily get into your skin they will keep on doing it. I'd honestly just roll my eyes at what people that have never met me have to say about me. Only my inner circle knows the true me. Lauren needs thicker skin, IMO. There must be more to her constantly being affected by what SM trolls always have to say about her. I honestly wish her well since I know it's probably hard for her not to look at those comments every single day. jmo

100% this. It doesn't make it right. There's never a need for hate. It's horrible, but I've absolutely noticed that if she responds or one of her friends does like Becca last night, it makes it worse. 

This is what these sick type of people want. They want attention. They want to know it bothers you. They want to know what they're saying you're seeing. Responding and acknowledging it feeds it and adds fuel to the fire. JMO
