I don't think she has a real clue what she is going to up against.

Rachel will be appearing on Ellen today

When I first read it I just thought she was joking I think in print it comes across maybe questionable but watching the interview like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] said she was trying to be witty and funny with Ellen imo, the head tilt, the smile/laughter. Rachel has said many nice positive things about Nick just thought it was banter imo.

Also loved her outfit she looked really cute.

I think the articles make it sound worse than it is by saying "RACHEL LINDSAY IS SO OVER HIM" even though it was just witty banter between her and Ellen. And Rachel did say in a previous interview that she wants Nick to be happy, so I don't think there's any bitterness in Rachel's part, IMO.

I actually think Rachel was more snarky toward Nick when Ellen said she knew it would not be Raven because of the ridiculous pond scene on Raven's date and Rachel responded with a snarky.... remember the bouncy house...inferring that Nick likes immature things. My take away is between that comment and "his loss"....there is No mutual admiration society between Nick and Rachel anymore. Nick did not post an IG photo from Rachel's date last week so perhaps she is frosty about that. I personally think what she is looking for in a man does not represent Nick. IMO there is no reason for Rachel to be snarky or bitter. She should stay positive and be happy she got the Bachelorette gig....Nick helped her get there.

Rachel said she will be watching with everyone else which may hint that tptb will not be releasing the final epi to specific people/outlets in advance as is their usual procedure.

I honestly didn't see the bouncy house comment as a dig at his immaturity. I think it's a bit of a reach, IMO. I took it more like Nick is a physical guy; he is the ~sexy~ bachelor, after all. And I think Rachel is smart enough to be aware of the narrative TPTB are selling. As far as Nick not posting an IG photo, I think it's because the audience is already aware that Rachel isn't his chosen F1, so there's no point building anticipation for the outcome of that relationship. I also think part of it may have to do with all the comments he'd receive about spoiling the season, even though it obviously isn't Nick's call. JMO, but I don't think there's enough to say there's no mutual admiration between them; I'd like to think they still both respect each other as proven by their interviews since Rachel's announcement.

Why will she be frosty about a damn picture? Makes no sense IMO, she is barely on SM. She said in the people mag interview, that if Nick is happy then she is happy. Most people says "his/her loss" when someone dumps them, your friends & family say the same thing because if someone does not see you for the awesome person that you are or thinks that you are not the right fit then damn right it's their loss.

ITA! IMO In this environment it doesn't matter how smart you are in general, TPTB and their shenanigans are a different ball game.

I haven't heard the podcast but I read here that JJ said on RS's podcast about how the producers lied to both him and Clint about something to get certain reactions out of them. That is the kind of people she is up against. I just hope it all works out for her. JMO.

None of the leads know what they're up against. Nick had been on the show three times when he said with a straight face "there is no editing. The show tells the story that happened. Producers never tell you what to do or say". If someone with his experience can be that, IMO, stupid (or a shameless suck-up, same thing), anyone can be. I haven't seen Rachel say or do anything on SM to suggest that she's over-sensitive. Everything in her situation is a bit naive and unprepared. I actually do think she'll handle things better than most, just because of her career and being a POC, she's used to certain things that other leads were not. IMO.

The producers will do what they have to do in order to get the show they want.
If a cast person is unaware of the lengths they will go to, it's a prime situation for disaster.
IA, this is not an intelligence issue, IMO, it's an ignorance issue.
Seasons ago and then seasons before that, an actual contract was c/p for our(sleuthing) viewing pleasure. The contract has what I like to call a "humiliation" clause that cast sign.
Basically, the clause says TPTB have a right to portray a cast person anyway they choose including X, Y, Z.
I have not heard this has changed.
Yet it always surprises me to hear that a cast person is surprised that TPTB do certain things.
I guess everyone thinks they are the one cast person who is "special or different".

When has Rachel ever said anything suggesting she is different? In fact, she has repeatedly said her journey won't be different than any other Bachelorette's.

It is MY opinion she's not going to be a total push-over or an idiot, like other leads, but you never know.
