I'm sorry, but it was over when he kissed Vanessa right after she puked. That is all the chemistry I need to see. Game over. Everything else is editing thrown at the audience in an effort to try to make something stick.

This is exactly why I think the editing is so off this season. There's nothing there to really show with the others, IMO. It was all Vanessa day one. JMO

I find the editing is the worst when there is an actual connection that they have to hide.

ITA @Sprite It happened on the Aussie shows last year... one horse race from the getgo and so the editors have no choice but to try distract and that's all I see everything else with Nick on his season as nothing but a distraction from him and V.

Still, to me it's so obvious the connection between Nick and Vanessa from the moment he met her and said she's a "keeper" to kissing her after she threw up. If it couldn't get more obvious from that vomit-kiss, Nick cried tears of happiness with Vanessa!!

So it's no wonder the edit is the way it is, IMO, as just those moments alone from their first date are on another level compared to any other moment seen with Nick and anyone else all season long.

ITA. It has been in the words of Vanessa 'Sooo annoying!' not to see their love story unfold in all it's facets.  It better be uninterrupted footage for FS and Proposal at long last.  That will be worth it, plus seeing them together on ATFR.
OMG I just watched the whole Elijah Wood interview where they chat about Nick & TB, amazing and gives insight that actually Nick is not allowed to speak to anyone, the fine he mentioned-  not in the millions I expect but enough of an incentive not to speak a word.

Nick posted that view from top of hotel shot with 'allswellhotel' on his IG, he also recently posted the cool face emoji up in the clouds/ sky. Makes me think he is referencing the ZG up in the air connection he has with Vanessa- as a signal to her.  It makes me smile too that these two air signs had their first date in space- floating, literally taking off together. Plus if they have the Northern Lights FS date then again the air- the sky is the limit.

I have been also annoyed by the so called commentators on this season- who seem to have forgotten the amazing chemistry from Nissa's first date- and keep harping on about Nick not being into any of the girls except Rachel- who's gone yadayada.  It seems so obvious to me of their connection I find it unfathomable why other viewers can't see it if the editing is left out.  Also no one seems to mention the possibility of them  leaving out parts- I guess because they are paid to review what is shown & not speculate what is not.  When Ashley I was on theat recap show she does- I was annoyed by her statement of ' there is no warmth in that family ' about Vanessa's HTD.  I found that insulting and what the hell would Ashley know, and is she not supposed to be impartial about some of this, she's made quite a few ropey statements which are her opinion but make me question who she is, why she is saying certain things. The fact she has been on the shows and doesn't mention the way they have chopped up the edit even more than on other seasons make me think that she just can't say it- that she is under contract to avoid dissing the show edit etc.

And we have a preview in the hotel room where he says he might let 30 women go. Totally designed to cast doubt on whether he picks anyone. Then there is the question of wil he be the first bachelor rejected? I personally love it that this season they have embraced the weirdness of this situation.

Imo it's been V and only V as a romantic interest from night one. If Raven or Rachel had felt they were in first place they would have shared feelings. I see all of the other 3 as good friends he can have fun with.

I mean - as having a good story for the grandchildren goes-
Our first date was in zero gravity & we kissed floating in space
On our 1st date one of us puked & one of us cried.
On our 2nd date we went diving under a ship wreck & kissed underwater. One of us said we were falling in love.
On our 3rd date we saw The Northern Lights together in Finland.
Your grandmother's Italian family were very protective of her and were not sure I would be good enough, but I talked her father into giving his blessing. I had to tell him I loved his daughter off camera, but it was worth it to do this thing right.
I confessed my love & proposed in a beautiful log cabin at dusk and well... the rest is history.

It's not a bad bucket list.

I do think the N&V love story is being told however the pages are not yet bound, like the "journey" scrapbook in the making, so it's a series of passages where sometimes the sentence continues on a page not shown so there is a sense of wanting or longing to know more.
I think there is underlying complexity in their love story, that things are often greater than they at first appear - deeper, richer - that makes each rewatching or reliving of a scene an act of layering pleasure, of savouring nuance. It really is about cerebral connection... floating images and weightless emotion.

Because all the other stuff about chemistry and feeling comfortable, etc. to me is right out of the franchise handbook. In other words, it's the cliche stuff you hear every season by every lead and always for multiple contestants. But those comments by Nick on his and Vanessa's first one on one was different and why they stood out to me. And again it was especially profound because this was their first date.

I wonder whose idea the Raven mud wrestling montage was- that fits the bill. It just looked so awkward to me- like he was arching his body away from her and just kissing, seemed like he was treating it like a modelling shoot rather than that they had undeniable chemistry. Also the whole way they sat beside each other on the couch at her parents house looked awkward & like they were friends not a couple. I can see a lot more chemistry with Rachel, but again he looked awkward at times during the HTD with her. He doesn't have the same way of looking at her in awe like he does with Vanessa, and I haven't noticed a lot of mirroring physical mannersisms either with Rachel.
