The Bachelorette To Return In 2017
Published: 28 October 2016

The Bachelorette Australia is set to return to TEN in 2017

After a hugely successful second season which saw Georgia Love find true love with Lee Elliot, Network Ten is delighted to announce that The Bachelorette Australia will return to TEN for a third season.

The romantic series will be back in 2017 with a brand new Bachelorette starting on her quest for true love.

Those looking for their special someone can apply for the show when casting begins in early 2017.

Excellent - Thanks! yes

To kick things off, as much as I like Nikki (who doesn't?) I wonder if she'd be emotionally healed enough before filming starts. She said recently she's "nowhere near ready" to date again:

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/reality-tv/nikki-gogan-says-the-healing-process-is-only-just-beginning-after-bachelor-breakup/news-story/502298250e7e67ae2a4e61e9df9af88f

However, if we're looking at mid-next year that might be enough time.  If Ten are looking to restore ratings and confidence in the franchise, seeing Nikki with her HEA would do wonders there.

Personally though, I'd really enjoy a whole season of Heather's razor sharp wit, and I think she'd make a fantastic Lead.  Plus she confirmed a couple of weeks ago she's single right now...

I wonder though if she's already 'moved past' the Bachelor universe.  She seems to have firmly established herself in other areas of film & TV so perhaps might consider it a backwards step?

Re: Sportsbet below, I don't personally see Keira, Laurina or Louise as having lead potential, and it's a bit disrespectful including Megan IMO, considering she's in a relationship with Tiffany!

If it is Nikki, I wonder if they would let Cam enter as a one of her suitors?  That's a pairing a lot of people would like to see IMO. They've met IRL which could be considered an unfair advantage, but TPTB have allowed it in the US seasons e.g. Nick & Kaitlyn.

I was thinking today about how great a Heather season could be, such a great conversationalist, very funny and thoughtful. You could be right though that she has moved on from this.

Yeah I guess it depends what else she's got going on right now, but I just think she'd be such a great Lead!  She's the perfect combination of dorky and sassy and sexy IMO. She's smart and hilarious and and I think she's got just enough acting/presenting experience to make her shine on-screen without coming off as fake.

I actually suspect she may have been cast instead of Georgia if she hadn't been in a relationship at that time.  Consider this quote from an article back in July: "Heather's return to single life comes at a bad time now that Channel Ten has already cast ambitious newswoman Georgia Love to front season two of The Bachelorette".

I wouldn't mind watching Heather as Bachelorette. I think it's a bit too soon and raw for Nikki - IMO

Isn't Cam a bit too young for Nikki. The only thing I see, IMO, is that they both live in WA. Not seeing the pairing at all but of course who knows.

You may have a point about Cam's age, but he does seem mature, and the gap between Georgia & Lee is 7 yrs, so it doesn't always matter.  I'm not convinced they'd be right for each other either, but both are so adored by the public it'd be a ratings boost to have him in the mix IMO, especially as TPTB may realise he's probably not be confident enough to be a Lead himself.

This awesome! I really hope it's Nikki apollo - Bachelorette Australia - Season 3 - Sophie Monk - Media Social Media - *Sleuthing Spoilers* 2498057887 Also does anyone know if they would film the Bachelorette before the Bachelor? It would make more sense as I believe If Matty J is next Bachelor he would need more time than Nikki to heal as she has had longer? just thinking out loud .

This is the information in the casting call:

http://australia2017auditions.com/the-bachelor-australia-2017-auditions.html

They use the title 'The Bachelor', but the ad asks for both men and women, so it seems they're auditioning for Bachette at the same time.  This would enable them to film them in either order, though logically it would make more sense to do Bach first IMO.

That said, I agree the wounds would be more fresh for Matty than Nikki and he's stated in interviews that he's not interested at this stage, while Nikki has stated she's 'open to it', so maybe they would switch it up and run with the Bachette first? Hmmmm....

They might flip things entirely and choose an unknown Lead from the audition pool, though this seems unlikely IMO given the lower ratings for Georgia's season.  If they want to revive the franchise, they probably do need the Nikki/Matty power team IMO.

Something interesting I just noticed:  I clicked the 'you can read full terms here' link https://bachelor5.castasugar.com/terms_conditions and it says this:

"3. Female applications will not be accepted if the female applicant’s age is less than 23 years of age or over 40 years of age by midnight Sunday 22nd of January 2017.

4. Male applications will not be accepted if the Male applicant’s age is less than 27 years of age or over 38 years of age by midnight Sunday 22nd of January 2017."

This contradicts what it says in the short ad that males can be 28 - 40.  Possibly just a typo, but could indicate they've locked in a female Lead and she has younger taste?
