Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I like it. I like the Ben and Lauren moments and I like all the extra Bach people as well. This ep had me rolling with that national anthem prank. I would have died!! I have heard of several singers saying the national anthem is their worst fear just because of the huge amount of pressure. And also, there was much more positive said on sm this week, IMO outweighing the negative comments. I'm not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to my chadbear next week

The two statements above..? Something is seriously wrong with me IMO.

I definitely enjoyed this episode more than the manufactured drama from episode one.

I know "drama" is what sales in these types of shows so I'm not expecting it to last but it was so fun to see Ben and Lauren's playful side.

Also, I am so overly excited for their wedding, it's a bit embarrassing

IMO when the show manufacturers drama, the resolution is usually very anti-climatic, which for me was exactly the case with the JoJo "drama". I felt Lauren and JoJo met each other warmly and consistent with what Lauren has always said - they are friends - and IMO they met in a friendly way (and a friendly hug). At the end as I recall Lauren said she didn't see any chemistry between Ben and JoJo and that sort of wrapped up the story line. Much ado - about nothing, and on to the next story line we can go.

The episode took a bit of time setting the stage for the meeting with CH (using a date card of all things) and his "invitation" to televise their wedding. As if one couldn't have guessed what the HEA show was all about in the first place, the scene with CH made it pretty clear IMO. Of course the show is the show and they had to make a big deal of Ben seemingly uncertain (not about their relationship but about a wedding so soon) and IMO this was as "made for TV" as anything else because by the end of the episode, Lauren clearly wants the TV wedding and Ben also wants to do it.

He was a terrible lead, should have never been in that position. But for who Chris really is, just a fun loving, over grown, down home party kinda guy, I don't hate him. He's harmless.

I thought the total viewers was 402k? I've never understood ratings. Someone pls explain this

The first airing of the episode had 402k. These new ratings include viewings via OnDemand and even DVR I believe.

And reruns. Thanks, that's what I thought. So this is just the total numbers throughout the first week all over the country? The press release is coming from Freeform, so they're just blowing smoke, as any other company would for their shows IMO.

Ok I liked this episode. Definitely better than the premiere and the camping one looks fun. The natl anthem prank was hilarious .

I thought B&L were adorable too. Ben's a big baby I've noticed and often needs Lauren to talk him down/calm him down. I think they make a good team and balance each other out.

That was a lot less cringey than the premiere, but not looking forward to Chad shenanigans. I have to say, if I was Ben, Lauren would not be breathing anymore. I'm not a fan of pranks in general unless they're tiny ones, but if someone made me crap myself for several days leading up to an event I would otherwise enjoy, I would not take it well at all. Lauren's lucky he's such a good sport.

So when is the wedding? Not in a couple of months as Ben said anyway. It felt like the offer was just a prerequisite for the wedding planning that they want to film. Hopefully we'll get a date as well soon.

That was a great episode! So cute. I can personally tell how much they love each other and love their dynamic. Ben is just a big dork isn't he?   He also waaaay over thinks things, and yeah, Lauren is pretty calm and rational, anchors him down. Probably helps "talk him off the ledge" so mama Higgins must be happy some of that burden is off her.    I LOVED the "we are getting married!" bit at the end. That felt genuine and real and I could feel their excitement. Regarding that elaborate prank, no way did Lauren come up with and do all that on her own for people who are upset about it. That had show shenanigans written all over it. For all Ben's overthinking, he IS a good sport, so it's all good and it gave me a chuckle.

I'm guessing (like I've always guessed) the wedding is in January and will air on ABC on one of those Sunday night fillers the show always seems to fill every January. My big question is if it will be live like SeanCat's wedding or pre-taped like the others. 

Such a good epi and soooo less cringe than the premiere. Lauren came off so much better. I wish this had been the premiere instead when more people are likely to tune in.
