Re: Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
I forgot to say that hearing Ben talk about the 2 ILYS made me think he needs one of those dr's charts used to get kids to describe how they're feeling . Lauren's right, a lot of this could've been prevented. I like the guy but it's irritating to still hear him defend it.

I rewatched the show again, and i don't get where the 'jealous' Lauren comes from. She acknowledged that it's HER issue, she has to deal with it, she doesn't want to resent JoJo or Ben. She thinks it's awkward, which it is.
I'm 99% sure that JoJo didn't even call Ben about the lunch, that was producer driven, but I would've been 100 times more annoyed, if my fiance had just agreed to a lunch date with his ex without discussing it first. And Lauren's hesitancy about AFTR couldn't have been a surprise for him, they talked about it multiple times.
IMO this show is portraying Lauren as calm and collected, like I knew she'd be, and Ben a bit airhead. The 'you want to get married, what, I never knew that, slow down, call off the wedding' bit especially. This is his third reality show about his romantic life, proposing twice on live TV might give anyone the idea he wants to get married.
I love BenLo as a couple, both as individuals, but IMO the way Ben is teflon and nothing sticks to him annoys me. Jmo.

That's not bad! I think about 500k was predicted for the show (by a few of us on this forum), so it was pretty close. What are the usual ratings for the bachelor? And the usual ratings for Freeforum shows?StacyNor wrote:The show actually was no 88 with 402K and 0.17 in ratings.

The majority (from what I've noticed on the Internet, I don't have exact numbers of course) think the opposite. IMO Seems people think Ben came off cute, light hearted, and sweet while Lauren came off whiny, controlling, and annoying.IMO Personally, I think they both came off not so great at times. But that's gonna happen, seeing as drama is going to be needed on some level IMO.Fingersandtoes wrote:I rewatched the show again, and i don't get where the 'jealous' Lauren comes from. That's what annoys me, he's teflon, nothing sticks to him.
He can act aloof and clueless, and it's 'cute'.
I don't even get when Lauren was supposedly whiny. All her issues were valid, she made a lot of sense. Jmo of course.

I have nothing with these two but why would fleiss making these two awful with their show. I know it is a reality show and you expect nothing more on it.But it just stupid that the next coming episodes he let them show a lot of fake dramas . That is so unnecessary. I really can't understand why not just showcase their whole post bachelor life even if he did it in a full scripted set up atleast he is making Ben and Lauren looking good instead of being stupid by creating stupid scripted unnecessary dramas . Really ridiculous to be honest. But again this is what they are both signed up for and at the end of the day it's fleiss produced show and ratings is all important to him .Jmo.

"challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.real love is when you are completely committed to someone even when they are being completely unlovable.a strong marriage requires two people who chose to love each other even on those days when they struggle to like each other.a great marriage doesn't happen when the perfect couple gets together. It happens when an imperfect couple gets together and learn to enjoy each other's differences."

Re: Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
It's just typical for this franchise. Most of the viewers are women who turn a blind eye to anything an attractive male says or does, but are quick to call the women insecure/desperate/whatever when they're not simply grateful that this perfect specimen of a man gave them the time of day.
Ben avoided SO much criticism because Lauren acted so understanding and supportive and JoJo got the Bachelorette gig. It was like "no harm no foul, everyone's a winner". That doesn't change the fact that he acted like an idiot who was too busy basking in the love of several hot women to realise he can't pick more than one. It was immature, and he's still being immature by not admitting it was wrong of him to do what he did.

I haven't watched the show, but is it any more ridiculous than some of the earlier tv sitcoms like "I Love Lucy", "Laverne and Shirley" or even George Burns/Gracie Allen? My take is this is a take on a reality sitcom.
No good deed goes unpunished.

If they're aiming for a sitcom then they should've tried making it funny. Even the "funny" bits are just two people being awkward while looking like deer in the headlights. JMO.

These two don't strike me as genuinely funny folks. At least on the sitcom level. IMO.mindless wrote:If they're aiming for a sitcom then they should've tried making it funny. Even the "funny" bits are just two people being awkward while looking like deer in the headlights. JMO.
