Just a thought..

I just look at it like Ashley commutes 4 hours a day so she can be with her man, she's going to make this work no matter what. It doesn't seem to be the case for Ali and how much she wanted to make it work with Roberto. After all, he dropped his life to be with her in SD and it doesn't seem to me like she reciprocated that type of dedication. Maybe she did, who knows. :greenman:

I agree that you can't really look at one couple as a predictor of success for another couple, since every relationship is different and each couple's goals are different. This show has a miserable track record, but that's because not every couple is as committed to their relationship as Trista and Ryan or willing to fight as hard for their relationship as Jason and Molly. Ironically, Ali's is the only season I didn't watch all the way through, and I'm not sure how I would have rated her and Roberto's chances if I had. But since Trista and Ryan, there hasn't been one couple I could honestly see getting married until Ashely and JP. All the reasons why they seem different from the other couples have been discussed at length among the Jash fans on the board, so I won't rehash them. I'll just say that I don't have any doubt that they'll make it, and leave it at that.

Well, I think Ali did to a point, but I don't think she knows what she wants. She starts something and grows bored and drops it. As I've said, a relationship from this show is just as much work as finding a job in Hollywood. Something has to give and perhaps Roberto was tired of waiting for her to find what she wanted in life. no idea

Just guessing.

Yup, and the Ashley gets along with his family and vice versa. I don't think that was the case with Ali and Roberto.

I never heard that. If true that could have been a major problem. I was really glad when JP and Ashleys sister made up. Otherwise it would have Been a lot harder.

Bottom line, no relationship is 100% perfect 24/7, but if the good, the love & respect outweighs any problems, it will last. JP and Ashley talk everything out, we saw that in Tawain with JP's insecurities with her seeing other guys. I assume they still talk it out, if not in agreement on something, and they don't strike me as having knock down fights, it's not their style. And, they seem to be on the same page in their lives.

JP is older and knows what he wants in a wife. Ashley will be 28 in a few months and she's ready to marry. I wouldn't be shocked that Ashley wants to be pregnant by age 30. I don't feel that was the case with Aliberto at this point in their lives.

Ashley turned 27 this past April. I think she is more mature than Ali in terms of having chosen her career path, whereas Ali was more susceptible to being wooed by the media opportunities afforded to her post show because she didn't have a clear direction. CH isn't kidding when he says that staying away from Hollywood is probably rule number one for having a successful relationship.

Then again, I remember Ali saying that she gave up her "dream job" at Facebook to become the 'ette. It could be that she had started down a great career path for her, then got derailed byt the show, move to SD etc. I also wonder - being the eternal cynic - if this was why Chris H was gushing over JP & Ashley the other day and dropping wedding hints. Not that I don't think it's true, just was surprised that he was letting something out of the bag.

But I also agree with the rest of you that our couple seem solid as a rock! Ali was just with them....maybe it showed her that she & Roberto didn't quite have what JP & Ashley have? And perhaps - given Ashley's tweet - Ali was scouting NYC as a possible move? (that one's a total guess!)

That was a typo on my part about her age. Thanks IC, I changed it. Now my post makes more sense about being pregnant by age 30. :giggle:

Agree with all you said. I never saw Ali as being really happy with being the insurance salesman's wifey at home cooking dinner and just enjoying life together and planning a family. Maybe that's what Roberto really wanted after a long days' work. Remember the talk with his dad and their family values in a marriage. Most of thise guys on this show are not ready to marry before 30, who waited for that 'soulmate' to come along. i.e. JP, Chris Lambton, Reid, & Kiptyn, all well into their 30's.

Frankly, I don't think Chris knows much of anything, so he should just keep his mouth shut about the couples relationships.
