rotfl Alanna! I think we needed to see them write down, when they said "You're all that matters", "You're all that matters",
"We're all that matters" or did they use your all that matters. Another pet peeve of mine, the wrong your, you're!! :giggle:

He was probably one of the most intelligent, articulate and educated guys on Ashley's season (or any season, IMO).

I do think he must be extremely well thought of by his bosses (who we also must salute for giving him the Cupcake moniker!)
I agree, ironcat. Ben somehow became a millionaire winery owner who lives on a vineyard in Sonoma (WTF? Did people not pay any attention to the show at all??) and poor JP was just a blue-collar labourer. That small detail about, you know, his Masters degree from NYU was conveniently overlooked. Definitely intelligent, definitely educated and SO articulate. Never once did he say "Ashley and I's relationship," and I love him for it. :awesome:

Have I told you lately that I love you? :giggle: I must admit to judging these contestants a little too much on their bad grammar, but it was absolutely refreshing to hear JP consistently form full sentences correctly for a change. And speaking of his education, don't overlook his Bachelors degree from U. of Michigan, which is also a top school. Short of Ames, and Ashley herself, I suspect his academic credentials were better than any of the rest last season.

Unfortunately, Ben was guilty of using the dreaded "I's" a couple of times; I hope we won't be hearing it repeatedly on his own season. :vomit:
Right back atcha! blowkiss

I'm a total grammar nazi and I, too, am guilty of judging people by their use (or misuse) of the English language. I just about fell over during Ashley and JP's first 1-on-1 date when he said in a PI, "Tonight is about Ashley and me." He totally had me then. I could spend all day listening to the perfectly constructed sentences in his and Ames' talking heads. (Yes, I'm weird. And somewhat shallow.)

And Ben was definitely an "Ashley and I's" guy. I'm fully expecting to hear it many, many times on his season. New drinking game, perhaps? :laughingoutlou

I'm in, but I'm not sure if my liver is. rotfl

Alright, let's not get too crazy here, he said "tonight is about me and Ashley," not "Ashley and me." Come on now, no man is perfect, although he's as close to Just Perfact as we're ever going to get. :27:
Okay, Alanna, full disclosure: You're right about the wording, of course, but here's the bigger question. Did you have to watch the episode again to double-check (I know, such a hardship), or did you know the dialogue off by heart?? You're among friends so you can be honest. I might judge people on their grammar issues but I would never think poorly of anyone for their love of JP! :giggle:

I'm just happy whenever I see 'definitely' spelled correctly...

LOL. You guys are so funny. One of my favorite things is at the end of the HTD, when he said "Today went absolutely perfectly" and not "absolutely perfect." (And I didn't have to watch the episode again to remember that, which suggests that I may need a 12-step program of some sort.) It's so rare to hear adverbs used correctly on this show, that I just wanted to reach through my TV and kiss him.

Considering that Ilene has a masters degree in English and taught at Dalton, I'm not surprised at JP's good grammar. He probably couldn't slip much past his mom as a kid.

Absolutely, totally, 100% from memory and I'm proud to admit that! rotfl I remember getting SO excited that he used it semi-correctly and needing to rewatch a couple of times to enjoy myself. Good grammar is so hot! Phew! :nuzzle:

Archer, IA you can tell that he was raised with people who speak correctly and are educated and not feral mongrels, which is more than I can say for about 80% of these contestants. LOL.

Nah, we'll claim momentary lapse of judgment/sanity. At least we're not being videotaped! rotfl

Not only did he speak accurately, but he didn't use the same old, boring cliches (sorry, don't know how to do accents!) that every contestant uses. You could tell with his pauses that he was searching for just the right words. Being articulate is sexy!!

rotfl Too true!

Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion.  Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

He was my absolute favorite when he used "regardless" instead of "irregardless" (which is my biggest pet peeve).

People actually use that as a word? English may not be my 1st language, but even I know that's wrong.

O.k. I'm with all of you on the grammar. So that's why I cringed when reading what J.P. said in the piece above "myself and Allen Bott". Ouch. Hate when people use 'myself' when they aren't sure whether it should be 'me' or 'I'.

And is 'liasing' really a word???

Love J.P. and will give him some slack. But these are glaring.

And thanks for the info on Michigan and NYU. Makes a ton of sense to me now why Ash was quickly attracted to him.
