The only reason I could imagine Jash going the televised route is to spare Ashley's family, who are not wealthy, the expense of a really nice wedding. I suspect JP's family (and he himself) are much better off, but I think it probably gets a little sticky when the groom's family offers to pay for more than is "typically" their share, in order to ensure a more lavish affair (I expect the Rosenbaums, while not ostentatious people, are going to want something really first class). Having ABC pulling out all the stops and spending at least a few hundred thou on the whole thing instead, will easily resolve any "issues" regarding this that may otherwise come up.

re: Jolly's wedding, I recall reading that ABC did not foot the bill for anyone but the immediate family, and there was some grumbling about other family members who were out of pocket.

re: our happy couple and the projected timeline, they seem to be ahead of schedule in other ways, so why not the wedding? Even JP (in one of his 1st interviews) said that Ash wouldn't move to NYC until Oct/Nov......not only did she move, they did an apt. search and had moved before then!
(I think they just couldn't stay apart :tackle:

re: ABC/dates.....I don't think it's set in stone that the wedding would have to be on Monday, just to jive with the bach/DWTS calendar...

re: accuracy of L&S: no clue if it's true, but they seem to have had the upper hand over the other rags with Ashley's season.....this would not be their first (accurate) exclusive by any means.

Getting married after being engaged almost a year is done often. and most times before 2 yrs. of engagement, if there are not any extenuating circumstances to postpone it longer.

Agree that JP & Ashley are ahead of schedule in their life goals together that they said they want to accomplish, ( in the Media Day interviews 1st week in August.)

Plus, why wouldn't they televise it and pay off those student loans in addition to having their wedding paid for. I say more power to them.

LM, yes, I remember reading if the lead and F1 marry within 1 year of the AFRC, ABC has the option to televise the wedding. Not sure if that's still the case. Now, maybe with Ali's injury, they will adjust/extend that timeline, or maybe there is no timeline anymore. no idea
