I'm sure ABC/MF will foot the bill for all the travelling guests - they did with Tryan and Mason (right?). They'll also have their famous/infamous past contestants/leads/couples in attendance as well - whether the bride and groom want them there or not - that's the trade off.

Trista and Ryan didn't have any problem with their wedding not being in Colorado or Florida (I think that's where Trista was from??) The rewards are worth the travel for everyone. Another thought is that since the bride and groom's families are not paying thousands of dollars for the wedding, they could probably help some family members/close friends with travel costs.

Who knows, TPTB may concede to NYC. Guess we'll find next year. :awesome:

ETA ~ exactly, Anders. I think TPTB picks up the tab for travel and all housing accomodations. Of course Ryan and Trista will be there too, as well as Ali and Roberto. They have to strut their successful couples out always. :giggle: Don't look for Brad and Emily, however.

I don't know why I was under the impression that they paid for immediate family only. Ever since Trista and Ryan's Pink Extravaganza they seem to have reined in the wedding spending a bit -- it looked to me like there weren't a ton of guests at Jason and Molly's ceremony. What if JP and Ashley both have massive extended families and were planning to invite 300 people? I seriously doubt that ABC's going to pony up the cash for airfare and hotels for that many guests.

It's probably just my own personal bias, though -- I'd rather have a less expensive wedding closer to home than to do it somewhere far away and not be able to invite everyone I wanted.

I don't know - I was just assuming, since they didn't mind shelling out 2mil to Ryan and Trista to televise the wedding - and it was the first in the franchise and they had a huge fanbase.

Just my opinion, but Jason and Molly didn't have that same kind of following - they came with the baggage of what happened in that season - and maybe they wanted the smaller wedding anyway - we do know Jason is very protective of Ty and wouldn't even allow him to be shot for the televised portion.

Yeah, the whole California wedding thing is alittle hard to believe, but if an April date is the driver the weather in the northeast is still alittle too chilly for an outdoor wedding. Ash & JP would make certain airfare / accommodations are paid for by ABC for sure. I've never heard either Ashley or JP say they come from huge extended families. I do remember Ashley saying alot of her UPenn friends had already left the city.

Didn't Ali say she wanted a summer wedding? based on that maybe Ali's already decided on an August date - after The Bachelorette is done airing - and August and The Fall are too close together to hold back-to-back televised weddings, either that or a fall wedding doesn't fit into ABC's production schedule. I could see Ali maybe being alittle miffed if her wedding is not first.

Ashley & JP have not wasted any time starting their new life together - it's amazing all the things they've done since early August. They're so in love I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to be married asap.

Trista was from St. Louis originally, and her family was there, although she worked and lived in FL and probably had friends from there. Back in those days, the producers forked over a cool million to the couple to televise it, and the wedding itself cost a few million, so I'm sure flying in the couple's guests and putting them up in hotels was part of the deal. Jason and Molly made a fraction of that, and I'm pretty sure also didn't get as sweet of a deal for their family/friends either. Then again, the Tryan wedding got around 20MM viewers, while Jolly got less than half that. And whether it be Aliberto or Jash, nobody is going to ever get the sweet deal that Tryan did ever again.

The only reason I could imagine Jash going the televised route is to spare Ashley's family, who are not wealthy, the expense of a really nice wedding. I suspect JP's family (and he himself) are much better off, but I think it probably gets a little sticky when the groom's family offers to pay for more than is "typically" their share, in order to ensure a more lavish affair (I expect the Rosenbaums, while not ostentatious people, are going to want something really first class). Having ABC pulling out all the stops and spending at least a few hundred thou on the whole thing instead, will easily resolve any "issues" regarding this that may otherwise come up.

LOL, yes! That was a LOT of pink. I can understand hits of pink in the bridesmaids' dresses, or the flowers, but to have all the chairs covered in pink fabric? Different shades of pink fabric, no less? Oy. Good thing Ryan's so easy-going. A lot of men would have run away screaming!

Well, guess I'm the minority. I thought Trista and Ryan's wedding was simply beautiful and so "Trista" with all the pink. Same with Molly and Jason's, with the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" music and an actual rainbowing appearing as Molly walked down the aisle before the heavy rains came. I smiled and cried during both ceremonies. They were both tasteful & personalized to them. Both Trista and Molly's gowns were gorgeous. jmo
