Well, we finally got there! It seemed like it would be a long stretch, but I stayed busy with Dancing With the Stars and getting ready for Christmas. And now Nick's season starts Monday night! I hope that he finds love and has some cool adventures along the way.

So, I've looked over the new cast at ABC's site:

My overall impressions: The cast seems like one of the most diverse ones that we've had. The women seem nice, overall. Looks range from average-attractive to drop dead gorgeous. IMO the prettiest is Angela (who could be Angelina Jolie's sister.) Raven is also quite striking. Kristina looks a little bit like Kaitlyn Bristowe. Lauren has a Reese Witherspoon look about her.

I like the sweetness in the smiles of some of the women -- Christen, Sarah, and especially, Susannah. I notice that there are about four nurses and two teachers. Some of the women strike me as being very *young* -- not so much age-wise, but in the responses to the questions.

It will be interesting to see their personalities emerge as the season begins and progresses. Bring it on!

The first I'll have seen of them other than watching a couple of commercials will be tonight. I'm trying to keep an open mind about Nick but mostly am watching to see who I like of the bachelorettes.

I'm going in blind to the M&G tomorrow night. I want to form my own first impressions based on their edits, then I'll check out the bios of the ones I'm curious about.

ETA: I just watched tonight's Bach update/Nick Promo episode...seems like TPTB are going to exploit the sexual side of Nick and a past relationship. Honestly, I'm not that excited if that's how TPTB are going to play this. Best guess at the moment is this is the cover up/distraction for the true "love story" of the season.

I'm conflicted. I felt TPTB distracted us and diminished the JoJo/Jordan love story last season. I've only paid limited attention to JoJo and Jordan, but they seem legit. So, I guess I'm hopeful that the apparent direction this season seems to be taking might be a redirect...if not, then I'm going to be very disappointed!

I just watched the countdown episode. I liked Rachel the lawyer, and Raven seemed sweet and very pretty. Corinne was so annoying! She runs a 'multi-million dollar' company from what looks like her kitchen? Yeah right

I know I've written about this in the past, but after Andi's season (think Nick's video fiasco), I recall reading a CH interview where he says that production rededicated itself to the show. (The interview is buried somewhere in the Chris Soules's threads, but I've never been able to find it again. I get a little nauseous whenever I go digging in those archives.   )

Anyway, since then, the F1 has been front and center in the opening episodes, with the F2's edit rising in the middle of the season and doubt with the F1 created. (The Farmer/Whitney/Becca, Kaitlyn/Shawn/Nick, Ben/Lauren/JoJo, JoJo/Jordan/Robby). If, if, if that pattern holds, then, to me, there have only been three girls who fall into the front and center position (meaning future F1). Those girls are FIR Rachel (but mostly absent this week), Danielle M and Corinne. We know Rachel makes it to Finland (SCs), but there are none of Danielle M or Corrine there (to the best of my ability to identify them in the caps).

I have no idea what this means , but if the edit pattern holds one of these three girls could be the F1. (If it's Corrine, then I take back any good thing I've ever said about Nick.     ) I honestly don't think it's Corrine. I think Nick is playing TPTB's game in order to get what he wants. That thought in and of itself is disturbing. I'm going to keep my eye on Rachel and Danielle M in the next episode. If they are kept in the background for the next episode or two, I conclude we have a new editing pattern shaping up or we have a Vienna/Courtney season. Would Nick be this stupid?

If Nick does pick Corinne this will the last US season I'll ever watch! But I don't think he will. IMO he is one smart cookie and after three seasons on this franchise he know how it works. Drama = ratings. He wants his season to be successful so he'll kept her to about top 5 and then she'll go in some dramatic bust up that will have us all talking.

Already I see connections with Danielle and Raven and I also think he likes Vanessa and Rachel. I would like to see him have a good conversation with Astrid as I think she is stunning and interesting.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Raven. She's the girl from the South, right? She's been a little prominant, too. I think I've dismissed her because of her quote in the preview. (I can't look it up right now because I'm on my phone.) She talked about Nick not finding a wife out of all of this. The way she worded it made it sound like she was talking about another person...not personalizing it for herself. I thought it to be a funny quote if she's F1. I suppose I should be more open minded and not automatically ignore her due to that quote. Still I found it odd to be left in for the F1. It does further the storyline for Nick, however. anyway, I'll add her to the front and center group.
