Someone else made the great point that maybe it's in Ben and Lauren's best interest that the show be super scripted. It allows them to take their paycheck, have fun with the experience, hopefully get the wedding of their dreams... Yet still maintain much of their privacy since the show is coming up with silly plots not at all related to their real life. Sounds like a win, win, win for Ben and Lauren to me.

I'm hopeful we'll still see cute moments that shine between the two, and in fact would be surprised if we didn't. I guess we'll just have to wade through silly nonsense with the twins and Chad to get those moments.

I'm excited for the show.  It doesn't bother me that some of the situations will be contrived and some "characters" are brought back for dramatic effect (e.g., camping with Chad) because that is what happens on most non-competition "reality" shows.  I don't fault either Ben or Lauren for that or buy the boring argument.  I was enthralled watching them fall in love on what was also a heavily edited and produced show.  Their realness still shone thru in a very surreal setting, and I have no doubt there will be an abundance of authentic, gif-worthy, and swoon-worthy moments (e.g., Ben's toast at Lauren's blog launch party, their engagement shoot, wedding planning) on this show as well.  Is it October 11 yet?!
