Re: Art
I love that painting! It inspired Sondheim too. Here's another painter that makes me think of Spring. I love everything Hockney paints.

Re: Art
@Kashathediva I love that one also.
For me spring brings to mind Monet and his famous gardens that he used for so many of his inspirations. It's on my bucket list when I get back to France to visit

Re: Art
I would like to dedicate this painting to the memory of our member SLA44. It was brought to my attention that she passed away Dec of 2016. SLA lived in the northwest and loved nature. I would like to think maybe she is sitting in this landscape and enjoying the peaceful scenery. source

^^ OMG, that is beautiful, Kasha. It brings tears to my eyes. I knew SLA44 for a long time and she was an intelligent woman and a great poster. May she rest in eternal peace.

a twist on the Last Supper:

I could do a zillion on the Last Supper. It is one of my favorites. It's actually a Passover Seder. So much symbolism. I love this.

Re: Art
I went to the Christian Dior exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto today. The man was an artist and haute couture was his canvas. Oh, to have the money to be able to afford this. The amazing thing is there were things there that are still on point today....except better.
All my images.

I know. Me too. They had a pair of dress ankle booties from the late 1950's that I would wear in a heartbeat. Much more elegant than the clunky/chunky ones out now. My only complaint with the whole exhibit was that I wanted to know what the price of the things were back then and how it compares to what it would be now.
This was another of my favourites:
My photo.
